Six-Week Breather / TMI Question Time!
Greetings, y'all!
So, just to get right down to business: due to a VERY full schedule in real life (my final course for my degree, final training for MST, crazy overtime at work and probably several weeks of field survey duty), I am going to be taking a temporary break from my stories and from FA in general. I am always thinking about my stories, but if I'm even the slightest bit preoccupied with writing a new one, everything else tends to fall by the wayside. SO... I'm not going to write a word of my next few stories (Amber, Junk, Kimmi and Mally) until I'm done my final exams in about six weeks. There's just not enough room in my brain for all of that.
However, since I still want to be more active around here in general, I figured I would open this up for asking questions and whatnot. I can check in on this every now and then, so that's not a major problem or a distraction. It doesn't need to be questions about the stories or characters (although it usually is), but whatever you want to know is pretty much all right by me. Heck, maybe I'll even ask questions back, since I don't know much about any of you, either. I just know I recognize a few avatars, and that's about it. I blame the ADHD.

Basically because this is my outlet for a fantasy. I write the kinds of stories I almost never see.
Good luck on your exams!
Hehe, nah. :) Just hope it goes well and good luck on your exam!!!!!!
And thanks!
For a long time, when I was writing 'regular' stories, it was HAAAAAAAAARD to keep writing, because I had no-one to share them with. Every writing website and writing group was 10,000 people submitting stories and 100 people reading ANYTHING. There was no feedback, and no chance of feedback. Strangely, this fetish-fuel website has been the biggest boon and influence to my writing 'regular' stories. You've all been the best audience and feedback I could have asked for.
Second, you do an amazing job making the characters extremely interesting - while I am not at all a fan of gay sex, I've reread Around The Fur several times just for the growing relationship between Myles and DL, and the Amber segments that contain no sex or at most implied sex - Midnight Snack, Talk Hard, Spring Fling - are to me the absolute best of the series. Do you, when creating a character, focus on personality, physicality, or sexuality first, or are they like fuzzy little Athenas who spring full-formed from your skull?
However, the numbers don't lie. My X-rated stories get about 3x the Favs and comments as my non-X-rated stories.
And until now, that would have been enough to keep me writing the X-rated stuff. :)
And thanks!
... oh, wait, right, the chronology. I dunno... I kinda figure that all of my worlds are connected in SOME way, and I've got some fun theories about that, which I intend to eventually release as a big crazy journal posting. As it is, though, I think all of them (except maybe Amateur Heroics) are in the same world... and heck, more than a few of them happen right in Circe (though that will also be changing in the near future.)
Thanks again!
I think it's somewhat common, at least in how I sometimes see hypers and herms. That's not to say that they're especially male... I know a large number of females whom I would consider the more aggressive, dominant ones in their relationships. As for being self-focused, I suppose that stems from my position as the viewer, who is enjoying the scene playing out, and as someone who would identify with the person being 'dominated' who is actually deriving their pleasure from the experience of being, well... fwoomped. Not everyone gets the same sort of reactions as I do from these sorts of situations, but that's why I write these stories, because there are so very very few stories quite like this. There's lots of herm-on-male and hyper-herm-dominance stuff, but they're not terribly enjoyable TO ME because they're all very aggro, they're very hostile, and there's so little actual enjoyment being depicted. There's no romance. There's just dominance.
I think Amber is mellowing somewhat (and before I forget, Amber's pronoun of choice was she/her simply because AT THAT TIME I thought the whole "shi" thing was a little silly. I have learned a lot since then). Kimmi is definitely not so much the dominant hyperherm (though shi has her moments). Odella USED to be pure dominance, and has grown a lot as an individual, and a caregiver. Loreli isn't dominant at all, but is actually trying to exert that side of hir personality. Nico/le isn't very dominant, but was ruled by their fear of just how people of their gender and/or sexuality are perceived and treated by society (something that I think is an important issue, these days). Junk isn't especially sexual so far, but shi is a very physically dominant character specifically because shi's a crimefighter. Mally is a lust demon incarnate, so HIR dominance really is for hir pleasure, but it will eventually be shown to hide a sweeter side.
... i think that's all of them? Heh.
I wanted to know if you had stories published anywhere, such as Amazon or Smashwords? Either "kinky" or "tame".
Actually, i am hoping to get this year's NaNo story published on Amazon. It may be furry and polyamorous, but it's not hyper or erotica so it should have a slightly broader appeal.
... also, I have no idea what Shashwords is, so I'm going to go look that up.
