Flying right away in an expansion would make things to easy but should be like wrath and mists. You get it enabled near level cap. Plus I spent a ton of time for cool flying mounts, dragons dont exactly look great walking on the ground

I think we're on the same wavelength. I like flying, but it is hard to do right in the current patch or expac. Being able to fly at max level was a decent idea, still made the world a bit barren. I think I like the idea of old content being able to be fly, new and current no. Just my opinion.

A commercial company is not a country and can collapse the same way they collapsed in the past, just think about "Pan American Airways", Enron, Lehman Brothers, Nokia...

In videogame world think about Sega and see how healthy Nintendo is.

But they also made critical flaws that ended up costing them. Sega collapsed because they released incredibly powerful consoles that were too expensive to sell well, and would never make back the cost it took to make them, and the low adoption rates (and difficulty to code for) ensured there would be few games for the consoles... leading to fewer sales, less use of the hardware, and the spiral continues.

Nintendo isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It helps that they have so much money to flaunt, they could run at a loss of millions of dollars for decades and still not go bankrupt. And Nintendo is a very smart company when it comes to games; they stick to what they do best, and they've been very stable for the past 30 years as a direct result.

Blizzard is not making any flaws critical enough to sink them. WoW is certainly their biggest cash cow, but let's not forget that they also own:
The StarCraft series, one of the three biggest eSports in the world
The Diablo series, which is incredibly popular
Hearthstone, which - given what little it must cost them and how much people spend on it - is probably another massive cash cow for them
Heroes of the Storm, which is already gaining a tournament scene and doing very well before it's even officially out
Soon Overwatch, which is already highly anticipated

They're losing subs on WoW. So what? Subscription MMOs have been collapsing for a decade now. It's impressive that WoW is even still relevant in 2015, and the fact that their last expansion managed to bring a few million players back is evidence of just how healthy Blizzard is right now, and how smart they're playing their own cards.

My point was that there are signs in all of the examples you listed. Sega was flailing about desperately before they collapsed. I don't know the specifics of the other examples, but I guarantee that for each of them, the writing was on the wall for a long time prior. Nothing about WoW losing some of its subscribers is the killing blow needed to take down Blizzard, and based on everything else holding them up, there's no reason to interpret those numbers as a sign of an upcoming fall for Blizzard, and people saying they do must be really passionate (and salty) over WoW.

And this is the most they have lost in the shortest amount of time. They are never gonna have the numbers they did during Wrath (which was their best expansion)

I agree Ive quit playing too not just for no flying but they never listen to the suggestions and players problems in the end all they care about is the money you put in their wallet ¬.¬

Well I quit not just cause of flying, the raids arent that great, grouping is terrible and professions are just a joke too. Its just not fun anymore and them publicly saying that about flying mounts just to me shows that they dont care anymore.

No, and you tell it, they really care about their money, the fact is they don't need to have a lots of player, they just need to have the best benefits and even if the number of players is dropping down, as their infrastructure cost drop too, they are happy

I had heard that one of the lead developers had actually said when burning Crusade was released that the biggest mistake they felt they did was include Flying Mounts.

I don't necessarily blame them. It helps them create better boundaries and while fatigue is still a thing and whatnot, it's a bit of a cop out. The inclusion of flying mounts that they needed to take more time to develop areas that would have otherwise not needed development at that time. Usually they could get by with doing just one side of mountains, for example. Now they need to do two and include drop offs, more enemies that have no relation, etc. I remember 'glitching' my way in to Ahn'Qiraj before it was even completed, or before Silithus was even Itemized.

tl;dr It just speeds up development of things. It's not that terrible of a thing I feel. (Granted I haven't played in years, but... yeah.

Exploring was easy on a flying mount, no risk of getting attacked by random shit and if you fly you can actually be safe and go afk if you need to.

I feel you that Blizzard's parent company Activision I feel been realizing their cash cow Blizzard is starting to produce dust instead of milk. I can see the benefits and evils of having flying mounts. I mean we can all agree that flying has great benefits like moving a extra 210% faster at max training in compared to just ground travel. This lets us cover ground so much faster and as you said avoid more trash mods to get where we need to go. Now on the same Token I still have to deal with death from the sky crap. All a hunter needs to do is land on outcrop over a rare mat that someone needs and just gank the person. I mean I for flying mounts because its faster and in the long run cheaper then flight paths and more direct.

The solution I say is make aerial combat or something. Make flying more interesting like give our mounts special abilities in a dog fight with another player in like a arena or something. I don't know, just adds a new area to do fun in a old game and plus it be interesting to see like a Engineer's flyer with machine guns vs say someone who is on one of the frost wyrms from Wrath raid achievement.

Would be nice if they did something like that with flying mounts but they never will. Blizzard needs to stick to RTS games. This whole Heroes of the Storm trying to compete with LoL and them trying to make a shooter is just dumb. And yes that new shooter is stupid looking, like a really bad version of Team Fortress 2

Well I been in the HotS beta. I like the more unique way of playing (mostly for the lack of needing to buy items and team pool exp). But thats just me. As for their TF2 game. I don't know. I'm not going to knock it until I try it. But you have to remember Blizzard didn't start with RTS, they hit the market correctly at the right time with their rts when they did make them, but they had a racing game and scrolling game like Lost Vikings. I can't knock them for trying new IPs, but I can knock them for abusing the ones they been running into the ground lately

I quit a while ago. I lost interest when the person that got me into it stated being a dick to me all because I preferred a wolf as a pet instead of a turtle when a soloing. :/ Call that petty, idc. We fought over that for a long time. I missed it until now. Idc if at the beginning there is no flying but I think they should allow it for later on.

Also, I don't agree with the argument of "it's not challenging enough if you use flying mounts. " Then don't use them, enough said.

Hunter pet choices have never really made much of a difference. Wolves and Cats were pretty much the best dps ones to have in Wrath (back in the day) but now it doesnt matter. Personal preference seems to be all. And I agree, flying at max level of an expansion works. Just makes things a bit easier after dealing with all the level grinding.

Its more of a challenge to get COOL looking flying mounts, instead of not using them. Not using one is just plain stupid.

Yeah, if I had the one I liked a lot, I would like to use it (huolon is the one i like). Too bad it's impossible for me to get, especially now. Just saying for those that opposer flying that they aren't forced to use those mounts.

They probably wont file for bankruptcy anytime soon, but just annoys me that they are doing less and less with their top cash earner. Should be making it more fun and improving on what people liked, not taking stuff away or making it even dumber and simplier.
