YCHs are dumb anyway... I mean, the concept is great, but the amount of money people throw at YCHs that are way more expensive to get than a regular commission... I don't get it

I looked at one recently and I had bid on it. The starting bid was something I could afford. $40. Sure it's not too high but I don't have lots of money to spare. Anyway, within seconds the bid was increased to over $100. I immediately sank back into a little pit of sadness knowing that people are unwatching me because I don't get any commissions done.

And if you look at that person's commission info, the same exact piece would normally cost half of whatever the final bid was... It really is kind of silly in that way.

And you shouldn't feel compelled to spend your own money just to please people on the internet... especially people who will unwatch you if you aren't spending enough money to give them something to look at.

I admit, I recently dropped $110 on a YCH for a commission that would be like $60-70 but it's one of my fav artists and she's damn worth it.

But one artist I follow makes bases, colours it and sells it for AB's of 100-300 depending on the 'rarity'

And that's not even their YCHs which are just ridiculous

I think YCHs are a great idea, and it's okay for them to be expensive if it's with a certain character it's hard to get art with or whatever. But when it's something you could buy yourself, just far more expensive, that's just exploitative.

Yeah, I do that often :P And somehow I manage to keep up with all the submissions in my inbox...

People won't stop watching you because you don't get arts ;S Do it for yourself to start with and be happy with what you get at your own pace, whatever and whenever you want. Because that's all what's matter in the end.
People's praises, critics and overall comments are just bonuses that you should take when it's there but that you shouldn't seek.

At least you've a female OC, I always felt that male's one are hard to grow up. I saw people that got way more views, watches and comments than me in a very short amount of time because of that (I presume at least.) And I'm like "meh it's unfair!" and then I just get over it!

Maybe the first part is true but the whole thing about praises n' comments I don't agree with. I think they spur me on to get more art of my characters. Of course people just favorite and forget. That's the way with things. I feel bad for people who have male OC's because I see them just get passed by. I'm not on this profile all that often so I just usually nuke my submissions since it builds up to like 11k or something.

You don't need to compete with other people hun and put yourself in a bad financial spot <:c When you're able to buy a commission then you do that. Your fans are still gonna see you in each artwork you get them <:3

Well.. if you are worried about price and whatnot.. Eberry and Tanks have amazing prices with great art. Tanks has done a few for me and Eberry is gonna be working on one soon. I think they are like $20 tops for their work

If i was an artist i would help. :) Hang in there, we all reach bad times, just gotta keep lookin up.
