CYoA: An Inn-teresting choice
You tell the the old rat you want the magic rope. Afte all, rope always has a use in these kinds of adventures. He happily takes your money and hands you the rope. you sling it around your shoulder and thank him for his business.
"Do be careful." he replies, half-smiling. "No one has ever returned from that tower in over a hundred years. You'd do well to take great caution."
"Thank you. I will." The younger, female rat shows you out. Before you leave, you notice a strange look in her eyes just as closes the cellar doors. You don't have time to say anything before they close, however. Though a little wary, you head back into town with the little change left in your coin purse. The amber sky informs you that evening is close by, and it would be best to find an inn to rest at before adventuring forth.
You happen upon a jaunty little place called the "The Hungry Gullet," and decide it's as good as any other. Inside, the little inn's pub is packed quite full of all manner of people. You head to the desk and buy yourself a room. Leaving you with 40 gold to spend on food and drink for the night. Finding a spot around the pub is a little difficult, but thankfully a spot opens at the bar after a couple of minutes of waiting.
A tough looking bulldog comes up to you behind the counter. "What'll ya have?" You order an ale and some food. He pours your drink and then vanishes to the kitchen. You decide to spy around the loud room for no particular reason than pure curiosity. The pub is packed with a variety of figures, but you can tell most of them are the adventuring type. The bartender brings you your meal after a while, and you chow down hungrily as you envision your next course of action.
"I'm not sure we're really prepared to hit that tower." You hear someone say behind you. "No one's ever come back from it. Least that's what the locals say." Casually, you cock your head in the direction of the voice. Sitting around a small table are three people. You listen close to their conversation.
"From what I can gather, the forest contains all manner of beasts, which, if the legends are to be believed, can swallow a man whole without a problem."
"Rather aptly named for the 'Forest of Hunger,' eh? But we've dealt with all manner of monsters before. This forest is no different."
"But we don't have anyone with skill with a lock. Who knows what manner of traps await us."
"So do we just give up?"
They're obviously talking about going to the tower, just like you. You had not thought to adventure with a group, but they could come in handy. You'd have to share your treasure though, and you'd have to look out for them if they get into trouble. Maybe it's best to ignore them and go to the tower by yourself. You've done well on your own so far, and you don't even know if you can trust them... Hmm...
A: Talk to the group
B: Ignore them
