EQ is the proverbial "You can't go home again" to me. The two years I spent there were some of the most amazing times I've ever had in any game. Despite being grandfathered in and being able to play free I can't get back into it. Too time consuming, too clunky..I actually liked a lot of the improvements they'd made by Serpents Spine but after Buried Sea the focus on end game and the addition of mercs took from me my preferred role-high level cleric who loved helping noobs and mid-level players.

I got back into it with friends, this new server reset the content back to vanilla EQ and it's slowly going to introduce expansions through voting by the community that plays on it.

I play it more casually as it's not my main game, but back int the day I played it a lot, then city of heroes came along and I got pretty absorbed in that for years. Now COH is gone. :(

I dunno if I could do progression servers. Vanilla EQ was pretty grody lol.

It's all about nostalgia and grouping with my friends for me, if the friend factor wasn't there I wouldn't bother. x3
