Hey fellow Carolinians and roller coaster fans, here's a head's up if you missed it. Carowinds will be shutting down my most beloved coaster Thunder Road on July 26 forever, in order to make "improvements". If you can swing the admission, go say goodbye for me.

Yes, but it's rather expensive. I may grab an after 4pm ticket though.

!? They don't allow you to run in for free after 4 or 6pm? I'm in Tampa and Busch Gardens doesn't charge on certain weekdays after 4 or 6 due to the park normally closing at around 8pm.

Nope. Years ago you could bring in a certain number of Coke cans to be recycled, and you could get in for $5, but that hasn't been on offer in a long, long time.

yeah they figure that if you're coming IN 2 hours before they or 3 sometimes...that they won't make much in money off you once in. So they say, Whatever! and let you in for free. It's usually locals only anyway doing that.
