If you are an artist (must read)

"Realize how blessed you are that you have the spark of imagination that so many in the current generation do not have. It seems the spark of imagination is becoming increasingly rarer and rarer in a generation that is used to having something else (be it media, video games, social networking, advertisments) telling them what to think and do. I've seen children who literally not have enough of an imagination to even tell a short story even when you give them the dynamics of what the story should be and the archetypes of characters they could use. They literally must be told exactly what to do or thing otherwise they label it as being "hard".
So, yeah, be thankful you have broken the shackles of the sheep and are your own lone wolf when it comes to thinking outside of the box. And that includes artist of the visual arts, musical arts, performing arts, and written arts. You have no idea what a gem you actually are."

I ended up thinking "If you don't share and contribute to the art community (online or offline) how will you ever learn and improve on your methods without feedback?"
Keeping your art horded to yourself benefits no one, especially if you want to make art your career!
