Scott's work is indeed remarkable! I first stumbled over it a few years ago when I was looking for a book for my niece. Breathtaking works all around!

I was not aware of this convention, but it looks quite neat! I'm very glad you got so much out of it. :)

Spectrum is an annual publication that has been around for over two decades, showcasing the best of the best in fantasy and genre art. They started SFAL 4 years ago -- the first convention exhibitor/guest list read like a laundry list of all the artists that had inspired me over 3 decades. (Michael Whelan, James Gurney, Boris Vallejo, Scott Gustafson...etc.) And I *missed* that first one -- only found out at the last minute it was 3 hours from where I live! Haven't missed the others, though! The convention is geared around art, and everyone is eager to talk shop, even the pros. Great place to recharge the creative energies, no matter the level of experience.
