Creating a Personal Website

Thoughts Of The Day
I'm having a little trouble generating ideas for my upcoming website. I'm looking for general ideas for theme, layout, examples (most helpful), and just feedback. I'm working in Dreamweaver and a little help would be nice.
Here are questions I'm asking myself:
What should I omit if this is my personal professional website? It's going to serve as a resume and I will refer to it when it asks for a resume while I apply.
What colors should I use to look professional? I'm thinking black gray and white. Perhaps some deep blue but not sure. Just want some support that I should avoid bright colors or colors that are garish to the eyes like red and bright orange.
How should the table of contents be set up? Should I set up a table on the left or right hand side or should I keep the TOC at the top/bottom of each page for easy navigation.
What kind of graphics should I use?
What color background?
Should I load it up with graphics?
Should I keep it simple so that the pages load faster?
Should I reserve a domain and what should I title it?
How many files should I make?
Just a little comment with suggestions would be nice. XD
I'm not really a novice when it comes to dreamweaver so you can talk to me about codes if you like. <3 Helps me better understand what's actually going into a page.
Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks.
To Do list:
Redwolf's commission
Sperklespice's commission
Website to host art and resume (about me and a short autobiography)
Work flash and fireworks a bit more
Keep people updated
Thanks.

Definitely have some catchy transition graphics, but not too many. Background graphics could either add flavor, and showcase your talent. However too many could overload, depending on how they're done. I believe less is more, lol, but that's just me. Just some catchy, choice pieces, showing a full range would be my suggestion
a left-hand TOC would be very helpful, and professional, yet modern as well
i like to help in other ways why not I have no job^^ have a great night I would *hug* but i dont want to get my ass kicked buy you mate^^ ok kk
READ Bottem First <<<<<
I use a color wheel its great for photos, art, house painting in and out i mean everything, It tells you what color will work with another. your blue it would have to be a vary light blue and the color that would work with at is a vary light cream color. I wish I could show you. I can scan it and post it on flickr so you see just what I am talking about it shows what you should use if you use 2 colors and 3 , 4 ,5 ,6 the pros use this^^
in my appion please don't get mad the white and black and gray will not work, that's if you don't want a professional web page. but you never know, I would do some more research before you start any thing^^ I think that's what you are doing hehe. I know nothing about dreamweaver thing sorry, OK I never made a web page be before , well I am not I am just helping you with ideas.^^
I am not quite good at web designing, but I tried my best to give some idea. Hopes that is useful to you. :3
- BG color: darkslateblue (#483D8B)/ darkslategray (#2F4F4F) / darkolivegreen (#556B2F) might work, the color can go even dimmer, like (#333388). The hue is actually depends on the content / theme of your website, so it is up to you. :3 But plz don't use pure gray scale, since the page will looks very bored and the people viewing the page will all goes to sleep. XD
- Keep it simple plz. :3 Plus, Dreamwaver is good but it always generates so many redundant codes = =, further optimization will be quite necessary...but if your page is too complicate, the optimization will be exhausting.
- Following the web 2.0 concept will make things right. XD
- TOC can either placed at top or at the sidebar (but the sidebar makes the page more like a blog ? = =). I don't really know the sidebar (if exist) should go to the left or right, but it looks more comfortable if it goes to left? :3
Well that's all I can say, since I don't really know what content you are going to put in your website. But I am sure you'll do well. <3
Cheers. :3
Graphics always attract attention but don't overdo it. It gets annoying and slows down the pages.
If you choose to reserve a domain, make it simple and easy to remember. I've seen so many annoyingly long domain names >.< and I don't remember half of them.
Anyhoo I'm actually sucky at site info soooo I give what help I can ^^
I wish you good luck!!!
