Submission upload trouble?
10 years ago
==Hello, welcome to my journal!==
Whenever I attempt to upload something, it ends up saying 'Image Not Found' in the finalized version. Is there a way I can fix this, or is it a bug with FA? I know several people have had trouble uploading new icons, but never heard of any trouble with artwork yet.
To fix the 'Image Not Found', I find I can click on it to make it appear... But that's kinda annoying, and not everyone will actually see this journal and know that's how you can view it.
If anyone knows a quick and easy way to fix this, I would appreciate knowing!

1; if you do regularly clear your cache and this does happen elsewhere, try not clearing your cache so much. It may take a few days of active usage to clear itself out but Safari may be trying to depend on the Cache more then your letting it for some reason. Safari is one of those lower browsers that tend to run on very little of it's own code, saving room for the webpage or other things you computer (or device) is doing. It may not keep an active record of cache contents open at all times, and such, it may be trying to check the cache by going into your hard drive (onboard storage apparatus, because Safari is a Mac and i____ browser, 8P) and returning a not found, after the html had finished the initial processing. It would have saved this report and preceded to call the server for the image upon next access, so long as the backwards and forwards buttons were not used for this, otherwise by clicking refresh or the download button.
2; if you don't regularly clear your cache, especially if you haven't yet, try keeping it clear. if of course similar things happen elsewhere. Safari may be having trouble processing any media that it would cache, it would explain how the image can be viewed the way it is. It may simply be finishing the web page loading before it's done caching the image.
3; it may be a little problem with FA too, very unlikely however (0.0 Did I just say that!!!?) FA's submission processing is most generally in this order
1) allocate filename and submission ID (as in, register the filename to be used in the source link and grab the next available number, seen in the example; www.furaffinity.net/view/bunch of damn numbers/
2)record and store submission data (as in the description, artist, actual records, and the search/browse category thing)
3) store submission file (the pic of course)
4) place a temp submission file while image (or, you know, otherwise) is being processed. This is commonly the Image Not Found thing.
5) generate submission page
6) publicise and opensouce submission and submission page
7) any required processing that happens to be needed before the image is finished processing, such as, example comment; 'Hey, I can't see anything!! 8('
8) finalization of image and replacing it where the temp file was.
This process is usually done so fast that step 3 is done before step 5, 6, and 8, making step 7 and 4 un needed. Safari may just be kind of dumb and catching FA off guard, or an any case rubbing it the wrong way.
