Mirror's Edge

Hi
OK... this is probably going to be a first for me, I am going to do a game review.
Mirror's Edge
Platforms: PC, Playstation 3, X-Box 360
Release date PC January 16.
I got it recently, first I ever herd of it.
I got this game in a promotion with the purchase of a EVGA 260 Core 216 and thought this game would not be worth my time... I went through the steps and Impressively I was wrong in my original theory. The only down side to getting the game with the promotion is that you have to download it which the file is rounded up to 6GB (5.6GB I think).
Fare warning I have yet to complete this game.
Mirrors Edge is not your average game, the game takes aspects from FPS, racing, puzzle, strategy and so forth. There is no real HUD just a small dot that points out the center of the screen and red highlights that help you along the way. This can get annoying but it is more realistic than you might imagine.
The game takes place in a city where crime is at a minimum and everything is beautiful... that is just the surface, underneath it all electronic information is monitored and corruption still takes hold. The world itself is beautiful, the city is amazing and there is no straight path to your goal. The player character is a "Runner," a messenger that deals with physical documents, a lot of which comes from the criminal underground or those that do not want the information they are sending to be monitored.
Here is where things get different from most games. The name of the game is survival and speed you can jump over objects, slide under them, climb them, run across walls, my favorite, jump in the landing gear of a police helicopter that is shooting at you, zip across cables and much more. The fighting in the game is just as varied, the direct approach is to shoot your way through, though not as exciting as running around your opponent(s) using the environment to your advantage.
The environment itself is a puzzle, getting from point A to point B usually involves running across rooftops and avoiding gun fire. The player character does things that no sane human would even think of doing in real life which makes the game so impressive. The world itself is bright and vibrant which is a change from most games.
Now for my favorite part of the game, the small details. The game uses a physics engine (PhysX is its official name) that renders the environment in real time. Translation water, flags, glass and almost everything that moves/breaks does not follow preset set paths. Water is rendered in real time and reacts according to the objects that are in its way, be it your foot or a brick the water reacts to it. Flags/posters are the same watching them get hit with gunfire is interesting, the impact area explodes and confetti flutters with the wind. Glass is another thing that breaks easily, be it from gunfire or you running through it and it reacts accordingly.
I could say more but I think I will go to play the game so I can see what the game has to offer.
It is more akin to watching a movie or anime,

FA+

I hope that the sequel employs a little more sandbox (i.e. freedom to run around and enjoy oneself), Tony Hawk-style. You really don't get a chance to truly go off and do your own thing outside of the missions.
... I fell to my death more times than I care to admit.
