Horsefurs rejoice! I got a little teary eyed knowing I was witnessing history in the making. To put it into perspective we've elected five different American presidents. The 1978 triple crown winner is at least a great grandfather a few times removed. It is over the life span of the average horse. And I was just a year old at the time.

American Pharoah did an amazing job in that race. I was out of my seat from the moment he took the lead out of the gates to when he stretched his lead further and further ahead on the last leg of the track.
