Its sad and a bit pathetic when you see a decent artist waste their time and tallent; instantly jumping on a bandwagon purely to make quick money. On this website I'm talking specifically about "new 'original' species".
Its REALLY not that hard to come up with something yourself for profit. Getting that product noticed is also not that difficult, as long as you put effort into promoting yourself.

I installed addblocks ages ago and haven't seen any of these new adds everyone's talking about, but I'm really not okay with IMVU's policies for our posted artwork. Hence why my page is now a WiP dumping ground. I'm not leaving, but I post a lot more content to other sites.

Not saying you're wrong, of course, as I've felt that way a few times myself...but have fallen into the 'trap' before as well, either out of legit interest or desperation for cash or both. I suppose context is key to everything.
When someone comes up with something and everyone jumps in and makes their own for a quick buck. Don't get me wrong, I think its fun to draw some of these things, but making a profit off of someone elses creation gets under my skin. It bugs me when I see someone with talent throwing it away and just not trying to do something for themselves. *shrugs*
I know someone on DA had a MLP maker and a LOT of people were just randomizing, screencaping, and selling the generated pictures 8/
Yeah I see a lot of ponies from the mlp one too :c
