But generally it means someone who acts like popularity gives them power.

I mean if you believe the term popufur is correct could you give me examples of it like people you believe are popufurs in a note? or for that matter would you consider yourself a popufur? There are people I believe are popufurs. I am happy to keep this opinion to myself.

I once was a popufur. It took a lot of hardship, heartbreak and good friends to stop that egotistical attitude. I'm a narcissist that compensates for it as best shi can. Being a popufur sometimes has little to do with being popular - it's a douchebag attitude of superiority, really.

I believe its a bad term used by "under-classed" furries who feel threatened or who are threatened by the more popular artists or furries. Like, as an example (This is not true) Lets say, I started to draw, and you drew. I have less watchers/fans than you and we may not like each other. You may come to me and boast "Your art is bad because you have less people who like it, compared to me" so somehow I guess the term was coined "You are just a Popufur jerk!"

I never faced this problem. I am not popufur. I do not know when people consider you popular. *Shrugs* This shit is just too weird. I thought it seemed pretty simple to get, but I guess not.

I have only heard the term used a few times and in all those times, it was pretty much meaning "FA user with 1,000+ watchers".

Popufur pretty much means any furry who has more popularity than the person making the accusation. Usually it has the connotation of being stuck-up, entitled, and other negative things people feel about celebrities in general.

Essentially, someone who's "popufur" is a "celebrity" of the furry fandom. Therefore, those who are just plain notorious, such as Evil Sibe, are generally not considered to be popufur, the same way Charles Manson is generally not considered to be a celebrity.

i just consider anyone who has a lot of sway in the fandom and abuse their notoriety.

Popular furs have sway with peoples interests and some people dont like that. Sometimes its rational because I dont like it when an artist knows they can get away with shitty behavior because their white knights are always ready to pounce (which is really the real problem, hell some "popufurs" might not even be aware of them)

Basically, its someone who's gotten a lot of popularity in the fandom. However, its used usually in an insulting manner, making the person out to be a snobby elitist or the like.
