Patreon

My first journal, and I bet I'm going to get a lot of flack for this if ANYONE finds it.
Ahem,I am a usual viewer of art on this website, and lot of the people I like to view that have the best art say they are going to do art that suits my needs,a single bi guy, which honestly makes me happy, and then I learn that the art is patreon exclusive, which pisses me off,I'm not a guy who can afford to drop pennies.I know what you're saying "patreon is a website for giving artists money, and you should feel bad for arguing against the sight",and honestly,I think Patreon has a pure goal to get money from fans to the artists on the other side, which I think is great, who I am REALLY pointing out are the people that make their art I really want to see patreon exclusive,so you have to drop real money to see it.I WILL,however, excuse someone for doing this if they choose to release the art on their regular page at a later date, there will be people who want to see it sooner, sure, and willingly will drop dollars to see that art sooner, but it also appeals to those that don't have a lot of money to spend and want to see that art.The only artist I'm seeing doing this is RamTheDragon, which is honestly a very good thing.Imagine this,a game you were excited for comes out...as an exclusive for a console you do not and cannot put the money up to have, then imagine in another scenario that a game you were expecting to be released was going to be put on a different console,BUT,was going to be released on your console a few weeks or months down the line. This is like that example I just put, people will be willing to put down money for what they want earlier, but when you do this, making it EXCLUSIVE to something people have to pay for to be able to see, that just leaves people bitter, and think of it in a game of cards that require resources, you sink all of your resources into one card, and then someone destroys that card easily, that ends up losing you a lot of momentum, and it's the same with the art these people are posting exclusively to Patreon,it's hurting them,it's tiring the consumer,it's a lose/lose for everyone, because they put a lot of time and effort into a work on Patreon[which I remind you has no age barrier],and only the paying customers can see it,that means that work they put out is not reaching as large enough audience that it usually would, customers that are paying for it end up getting tired and no longer pay for it,leading to less views, and it loses them momentum for their art, people are not going to see it on the front page anytime soon if the viewers keep dropping from it.

I'm very patient I can just wait for the art. nowadays a lot of the artists I have seen use patron wants an advantage of this. Wanting a bigger watchlist or audience. whatever happened to not caring about the audience but caring about your skills and artwork and how they improved none of that matters apparently. Now its all about growing fame and fortune. Instead of being thankful for what you have of your audience that has stuck with you since the beginning.
