Mulling some things.
I'm thinking of starting up a Patreon for my work. I'm also working out publishing some of my stuff using Lulu.
I'm a bit uncertain about some of the nuts and bolts of doing either. Would anyone be so kind as to share thoughts, impressions, and ideas?
Thanks in advance.

What works would you publish?
It's just that I'm looking to spark up a discussion about the ins and outs of using these services, and if you start your reply with "I don't know anything about these things." then it's not exactly helpful.
Stay tuned for when I work this stuff out, though.
Now as for your Patreon, I have a couple of questions.
I think I generally grok rewards and the like. If one wanted to do tiered content, do you have to set up a separate place to store the stuff you don't want universally available? I kind of gathered that Patreon doesn't host content. Or would I be able to post tiered stuff there? Things like special bonus art for higher pledge levels?
I noted that at some tiers you allow voting on your subject matter. Do you just do that via comments on posting, or is there some kind of polling/voting mechanism available thru Patreon?
Anyway, there's so much to absorb and decide on, and I'm a little lost. So I appreciate any input or aid.
Now on to Patreon.
It is very free-form which is both good and bad at times. Concerning rewards, I currently have a reward program where if one pledges $50.00 a month I will do them a sketch every month as a thank you for their support. Now to keep myself from being buried under an avalanche of sketches I have limited the number of $50.00 Patrons to eight. However I can increase that number if I so choose.
Also you can do other perks for your patrons. I can post content to Patreon and have it so only Patrons get to see, or they get to see it first. All my dreamscape stuff is posted as patron only and they get to see it a week before I post it on FA or DA.
Also I am looking into offering larger commission for patrons who pledge more money, or offering other perks like buying dinner and drinks at conventions we are both attending.
What I would recommend nosing around on Patreon and see what other artists in your field are offering and be imaginative!
I've gone thru a first pass at putting together my page, stopping short of going live, and doing so I realized I need to work out the writing of my pitch, maybe do some comic stuff.
I'll try to get my thoughts together for Smudge so I don't come off as a blithering idiot. I'm trying to wrap my head around the whole forest but each tree has a few leaves I'm wondering about.
Thanks for taking the time to put me some knowledge.
