Because.....furries (and people)....don't like change. Yeah, they $#%@ every so often, but with each #$%@ up comes some new members, and the community is so big, think of it as a site that is "to big to fail" status of the furry community.

because it never bothers me and most of my annoyance is with how much poeple complain and bitch and moan leading to nothing but annoyance. so i hope those poeple leave cause that's less bitching i have to see when ever there is any sort of change.

Sarcasm aside, I think it's the same thing as with bronies using the term "everypony" instead of everybody. People use it, because everybody else use it. Same here

Not an excuse!

People wont leave FA because it's an established community with a large amount of artists that use the large community to generate actual income. The fear is that things won't be any different on other furry websites and "better the evil you know than the evil you don't".
TL:DR Because as bad as FA is, there isn't a better option, until some place like Weasyl or Twitter/Facebook provides aplace for a community that's artist/commission friendly.

Well, at last, I finally have an explanation given to me that makes sense. I commend you Loggy, I truly do. But Weasyl is a place for a community that's artist/commission friendly. At least, I see it that way. All the problems I have on other sites, and I don't mean just the furry ones, I haven't had any of those problems with Weasyl. But I hear people complain about Weasyl all the time. And it's almost always about the layout, which I have to say is an extremely trivial, and honestly very stupid, reason to hate a website! And I know a lot of other commission artists who left FA went to Weasyl! So why won't anyone else go there?

The transition is certainly underway. Everyone I know that lives on commissions is on every site they can get an account on. The issue is the fanbase itself is slow to want to change, mostly because there has been an order established on FA and these other sites, while not hostile to communities, certainly have not had the time to gel up and establish their own espirit de corps.

So it's literally fear of the unfamiliar. Frickin assholes!
