Claudia_VialSo, for those that grew up in Australia, you'll remember Around The Twist. I used to always watch it as a kid. I found it on Australian Netflix so I thought, "Yeah, lets do this. Walk down memory lane time."
So I'm watching it and I'm also thinking about American and Canadian series for kinds weird and spooky stuff like Are You Afraid Of The Dark? and Goosebumps. Now, rewatching Around the Twist I realize, This was a really good show to watch as a kid because it teaches us something.
It teaches us that every weird thing, every spooky spook, aren't actually all that scary if you get to understand it. Ghosts don't want to hurt you, they are just spirits of people who need help. Even evil looking things usually only want something simple. Don't judge a book by its cover and usually the real bad guys are bullies and humans who are greedy.
But, it also makes me remember my childhood when you could make all your friends join you in tune by asking, "Have you ever... ever felt like this?"
