I once had a friend with a similar set-up. For all but the tape anyway. Heard Credence's first on it once.... my introduction to Bayou Country....Oh My! The vinyl on a really good turntable and tube type amp. Unreal!! I remember that from then, which was in 1969. Heck, had just moved away from my parent's house then. I was about to turn 20.

PS I bought Joe's Garage on vinyl at a Thrifty drug store in their $1.00 'nobody wants these' section back about the time it was released. I guess they didn't know what they had. ;3 I never listened to it till later when I was friendless and very unhappy working as a maintenance mechanic at an industrial laundry in Twin Falls, Idaho. I played it one Sunday cause I was drunk and bored and it became my newest friend. I blame my perverted status today on Frank and this album. (though, in truth, I was already WAY far gone into perversion...he he he) Now you know a bunch of shit you didn't need or want to know about me. GOTCHA!!

Oh...one more thing. I never got into sex with the machines at the laundry even though the washers were damn sexy and I knew a bunch of German. I was afraid all the other people there would laugh at me if I did. >:3

Steve is very much in the same class as Frank as far as way out there virtuoso music. He's a really great guy who happens to look like a rock star, have the skills of a rock god but none of the ego. My 'sona has liberal doses of Vai because I feel he's definitely someone worth emulating. Skills, heart and class.

Flexable is his first solo album and has a lot of Frankism's in it while Passion & Warfare is pure guitar shredding bliss and one of the best rock albums of the late 80's/early 90's (Steve recorded it while on tour with Whiteskake). He's been in a few commercial rock bands (he was David Lee Roth's first guitarist after Roth went Solo and played in Whitesnake for awhile).
