My thoughts on the all the LGBTQ stuff.

Before I begin, please read the entire post before commenting.
I've been dealing with this in my head for too long and it's time for it to come out.
I'm finally glad to see this, hopefully, come to and end because I'm getting tired of the whole thing.
I'm tired of it for many reasons.
I'm tired and fed up with people on both sides of the debate. We're all adults but were acting like kids, instead of coming together and working out a solution we've called each other names, thrown temper tantrums and ultimately kept running to Mommy and Daddy when we didn't get our way.
I'm tired of the rainbow flag and pride, not because I agree or disagree with it. My feeling is if you want go a pride fest have fun and more power to you, but you won't see me there though it's just not something I'm interested in. I'm tired of the flag and pride in that they're saturating the media. I have the same feelings about Christmas, a little bit is fine but when I stores start playing Christmas carols and selling trees in September, I get tired of Christmas because it's everywhere.
I'm also tired because I feel that the flag and the whole movement has been somewhat corrupted, it's turned into the 'it' thing. I feel like there are people and companies that are displaying the flag to avoid controversy and to make it seem like they care or sell their products. I had the same feelings with the breast cancer pink. A company would say "a portion of proceeds go to charity XXX", that portion could be $0.01 on a product that cost $1 more than the exact same product but not in a pink bottle.
As for the SCOTUS ruling, I agree with both sides, people should have rights and the states should have rights (that's a whole debate on it's own) we're not a one size fits all country. Personally I'm not for gay marriage nor am I against it, and I think government should just get out of marriage all together.
I have LGBTQ relatives, friends ,including many of you, and extended family (interesting fact, my Grandmother-in-law's daugther and her partner were the first same-sex couple legally married in my home state after it was legalized), the fact that anyone is GLBTQ or whatever doesn't bother me. I may not like it, understand it or care about it. I care WHO you are NOT WHAT you are.
Both sides need to give and take.
Anti Marriage - Does gay marriage have any effect on you? Why should it matter to you? You're not right.
Pro Marriage - Realize that there are bigotted assholes out there but also realize that they don't speak for everyone. You're not right either.
GLBTQ or whatever, if you're being bullied, belittled or ostracized because of what you are remember this quote "Just be yourself. Whatever happens, they can't take that away from you." and if you need someone to talk to I am more than open to talk with you here or on skype (PM me). I don't want to ever see or hear about someone hurting themselves or worse because the truth is that EVERYONE is here for a reason.
In closing, I hope we as individuals, groups, states, nations and as the human race can put this behind us and move on to solve bigger more important problems.
LOVE IS LOVE be it one man one woman, two men, two women who gives a shit, at the end of the day we're all humans and we all have to live together so we might as well make the best of it.
