The sad thing about Nice Artists

I notice they do things people ask of them even if they don't want to, or previously stated they won't because they've been put on the spot.
It's generally the fear of getting a bad review, or the inability to say no that prompts them do do this, and I suppose that's on them. 'Buck up', or 'learn how to say no', blahblahblah, stabbing yourself in the foot there but... it's still grating when customers ask for things they shouldn't be, or asking more than what they politely should- if that makes sense.
Like a PWYW. You pay 5 bucks, then expect the artist to draw all this really complicated stuff. Sure you can say the artist is doing it to themselves, but you can't say people haven't turned around and shit on the artist for less things. Oh, you won't draw this super complicated thing for 5 bucks? Well now I'm going to drag your name through the mud.
There are customers that act like they're entitled to something, and tend the drop down the ever so lovely, 'Well I'm paying you so you have no right to complain.'
Well, when you're paying 25 bucks and demanding 50 dollars of work, then yes, the artist has all the right to complain- buttt the customer will never see it that way.
It's happen time and time again, and some artists just feel nervous about being put through that.
Nevertheless, I'm forever thankful for those watchers who understand and follow the rules/common sense. Love you guys uwu

Someone had commissioned her... or a friend... forgot which, and at the end they were like, 'This isn't what I expected, I thought you were a better artist than that' and the artist was like ??? my gallery is right there though? You knew what my art looked like?
And they basically thought their gallery was a lie or some shit.
I know this happened to Ryn and Talvi.
So I can completely get where you are coming from and what you are talking about. I have seen people like that.
And then they whine when they don't get what they want.
Aaand yeah, I see them a lot and they get away with it because artists are just worried to speak up. Because the issue is, artists who make money off what they do have to suddenly keep up a professional profile and if they reign down justifiable wrath of any sort, suddenly boom they're jerks. Seen that happen too 8B And even if it's just the minority speaking, it's still not something anyone wants to deal with.
It is interesting that the customer can seemingly get away with completely downsizing someone with no consequences while, in many cases, the artists livelyhood is at stake. I can understand some complaints, like waiting 2 years for a commission to be completed because an artist backed themselves up... But so many complaints I have seen by people are petty... And trollish.
Taking too long, putting 5 dollars of effort into a 50 dollar piece, TAKING YOUR MONEY and not giving you the art in return GOLLY I have seen that, plus a menagerie of other things. SO MAN, some artists are by no mean angels lol. >:V
Buutttt yeah. >:[ Needless complainers.
but people need to understand that some artists live on their work, and they need to also understand that the money we artists make is no where NEAR enough to help us live sometimes.
"Maybe you should get a real job" :BBBBBB
Yeah I'll see someone price their art at 200 and go damn, I so don't believe they should have their art at that price-- but some people think other wise, and do buy their art at that price. So eh, if someone is willing to pay X amount, then technically, their art IS worth X amount, you know?
