Adventures in University - Unexpected Expected End
10 years ago
General
How do I even use this? I've decided to give up university after this semester is over.
There's no point in wasting every opportunity given to me as well as the time, resources, including money, that I've used.
I'll probably be going back to work to pay back my student loan because that's the least I can do is repay what I've borrowed asap.
I've learned a lot from my time here and all. But I'm full of regrets among other things. I just can't deal with any more failures from my inability to learn what I need.
I'll finish what I started so far, but after that, it will be time to throw in the towel.

Do you mind if I ask for more details? What is it that's caused you so much trouble?
It's just that I can't do anything right.
With everything that's already going on, I can't do anything to improve.
Don't give up. :)
Even if your first year seemed terrible, I assure you there are almost certainly little things that you're not noticing or ignoring because you're focusing so much on your "massive failures".
And, if your university is even halfway decent, there are plenty of resources to help you get back on your feet if you've fallen down, whether that be emotional, physical, or academic trouble. Don't give up just yet. As Soba said, take a break if you need to, but try not to give up just yet - you've only been at this for a year, after all.
Let me tell you a little secret: Nobody is capable of using all the resources available to them at university, to do that would require a time machine. Likewise, every experience you go through teaches you something, and the fact that you're making the conscious decision to drop uni, instead of it being forced upon you due to something like bad grades or misconduct, is in and of itself a sign that you're doing SOMETHING right.
That being said, college isn't for everyone. For some, the stress is too much to handle, as well as all the expectations that family and society places on them. But it seems to me, just from your reasoning and what I'm (hopefully correctly) assuming, that you're doing alright so far. The final decision is on you, and I will warn you that the road ahead will definitely not be easy. But it can definitely be very rewarding, so I, personally, would recommend you continue. You've come this far, after all.
