Cool Music Suggestions?
Hey, so!
About to drive across the country.
Does anyone have any cool song suggestions to pass the miles? I mostly listen to indie folk and rock and that sort, anyone who's Googled any of the lyrics I use as painting descriptions or has been on my streams with sound on knows the sort of stuff I like., but anything good that you would suggest is welcome!
Link me your favorite song of the week! :D

Naw,jk. About the forced liking part, that is. (Join the Dark Side. We have cookies and epic music.)
It's synth-tastic!
just to give you an idea, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6-TWRn0k4I
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azUPzNUGLsk

The whole thing
Specifically,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJjj0hHBvDg
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd0RHvFNPqA
never get old for me.
The music for the first megaman X intro stage is pretty good, and somewhat fitting for highway travel.

Otherwise, I like to listen to Pendulum and Blue Stahli.
Blue S: Anti-you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6XlQhtqPQs

A mix I chill out too- I draw with really upbeat stuff in my streams but this is what I listen to when I draw by myself or with the datemate uvu I have a whole playlist of mixes like this if it catches your interest.
Ratatat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ohkCQp4xL0
Omar Faruk Tekbilek: https://youtu.be/KcofrLg1GxI
GusGus: https://youtu.be/trqL3pzE8rg
Peace- "In Love"
Of Monsters And Men - "Beneath The Skin"
Mac Demarco- "2"
Frightened Rabbit- "Midnight Organ Fight"
Bombay Bicycle Club - "A Different Kind Of Fix"
Bombay Bicycle Club - "I Had The Blues, But I Shook Them Loose"
Oberhofer- "Time Capsules II"
Real Estate- "Days"
Boom, hours of Summa time fun
The Morning Benders- "Big Echo". Incredible band ^^ http://youtu.be/FF_IETJUXKE
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iSQGWpy0qY -- The Head and the Heart - "Down in the Valley"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCSdUhocN8A -- Carbon Leaf - "Changeless"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2Cn2YoHxlc -- Carbon Leaf - "Raise The Roof"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuNgDMdXAlM -- Carbon Leaf - "One Prairie Outpost"
Since you're going for a long drive, you're going to want something high-energy and fun. Can I suggest a little Me First and the Gimme Gimmes? Punk covers of great songs. :D
www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBGGYrFePCk -- MFatGG - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV3XQcCyyPc -- MFatGG - "I Believe I Can Fly"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHK_glReXOw -- MFatGG - "Eastbound and Down" (This is the version they used on Archer)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=suQKGBeYQX4 -- MFatGG - "My Boyfriend's Back"
Pretty soon on a long highway, you need something that gives a fresh twist on old excellence. For that, I look to mashups, and for mashups, there's only one name: DJ Schmolli
www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-8Rd9QBlJI -- DJ Schmolli - "Rock of Ages" (Over 20 rock classics, mashed up perfectly into one unstoppable rock anthem.)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=U53kRvyLl3s -- DJ Schmolli - "Kung Fu Jumping" ("Jump Around" meets "Kung Fu Fighting". Aw yiss.)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlwwpWaYf_U -- DJ Schmolli - "Enjoy Jumping Around"
Finally, the hour's getting late, the highway is dark and quiet, and you don't want to fall asleep, but you still need something downtempo. Maybe something a little eerie, something that crawls up your spine just right. Why not triphop?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZNkqHif3Z8 -- Juno Reactor - "Swamp Thing"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiK2JlBpzvI -- Massive Attack - "Angel"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Cl0UZ1TycY -- Klint - "Are You There"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jTg-q6Drt0 -- Boards of Canada - "Reach for the Dead". (This is also *the* song for taking off on an airplane at dawn.)
Not sure if your much of a country fan

Have a safe trip! :3

Here's what I suggest.
1) Radical Face. Especially their two Family Tree albums The Roots and the Branches. You can practicality see the stories the albums tell in your mind, and each listen through gives you more and more details.
Radical Face - Always Gold: https://youtu.be/vqc2uOunPdA
2) Lord Huron. This is someone I found only recently. I've been listening to their album Lonesome Dreams, and it's a nice album.
Lord Huron - Lonesome Dreams: https://youtu.be/h0oWKc3J9Aw
Kenket, I'd say just get all the albums but my personal favs are Love Like Ghosts, The Night We Met, Time To Run and Son Of A Gun
Also in the same western revival indie folk vibe, The Lonely Wild is A+++
Here's an infamous live performance where the frontman goes into one of his rants in the middle of the song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjSyZslQp0w
For a harder sound I'd recommend Red Fang (I'd also recommend just watching their comical videos):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VufilzHKTqk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGgwZeYj57Y
For a more droning nighttime feel I'd go with Alcest:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmT.....p;spfreload=10
And another Canadian contribution, the...odd mix of country and blues and hip hop of Buck 65:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wyyVh3uc5Y
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FO9ar-kjUbw
Try Darkwood Dub.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjLR2NCLq24
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-t3.....=RD-t3ei8Viaxg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWJ5dtF6X4I
For indie rock i really like skyclad
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOwxjxEwZgA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVJkVCWXe9Q
and Van Canto as an honorable mention
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt4CQc1MSso
though if you are looking for bands that are similar to ones you like there is this site http://www.music-map.com/ just type in a band you want something similar to and it will map out other bands and how close they are to the one you want.
The original, harder tinged rock - http://youtu.be/7enVPz6fvGo
And then there's the newer, more acoustic version. http://youtu.be/s-GpzXpyGJQ
Both are great and I recommend giving some of their other pieces a try
this might be to your liking: https://fadedpaperfigures.bandcamp......ack/lost-stars :3
athlete can be pretty chill indie too: https://youtu.be/SJbPd_xWv-Y
wombats just came out with a new album as well which is pretty good, on par with their earlier ones

In addition to their song "Furr"—which is amazing—I can recommend "Black River Killer" and "American Goldwing."
Your other song suggestions are cool, too; let's hope
I can give you some sugesstions of my favorite bands here and some examples of their music.
Anything from Fleet Foxes, both the album with the same name ("Fleet Foxes") and their second Album "Helplessness Blues". It's a very pure, natural and mystic sound of folk.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSB74LZDNr0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mR8Z-gmK1g
Then there is Sea Wolf, which you should check out. There are a lot of albums, all of them are worth your time. "Old World Romance", "Song Spells, No. 1: Cedarsmoke", "White Water, White Bloom" and the absolute best "Leaves in the River". All of them are closer to the singer/songwriter aspect of folk.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-vZulnv1Ew
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-IXwKgbhdE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79JRFTTp3js
Shearwater is also very good. There are again a lot of albums to search through, like "Rook", "Palo Santo" or "The Golden Archipelago", but my favorite is "Animal Joy". It's a bit more heavy on the indie rock side, but it's still folk.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKeXfh7WH54
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pfTXtyiZLs
Grizzly Bears is also great, similar to Fleet Foxes, but with their own style. "Shiels" and "Veckatimest" are the albums.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjecYugTbIQ
You could also check out Suffjan Stevens, either "Seven Swans" or "Carrie & Lowell" for very somber, careful sounding folk.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99TCWaHmWKc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTeKpWp8Psw
And if you like folk that sounds a bit like The Beatles in some aspects, The Shins are a good source of music. "Oh, Inverted World", "Port Of Morrow" and "Wincing The Night Away" are the albums of choice.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pffMwC__qDs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyAJ4V06izg
Someone also suggest Of Monsters and Men and Radical Face already and I couldn't agree more.
I hope that helps x3

His music is along the lines of funk/jazz, quite relaxed stuff.
Here is a playlist with a few of his songs.
My favourite has to be 'Inner Struggle', because goddamn, that piano.
If you like indie folk, you'll like this: https://soundcloud.com/amarantemusic/the-manic
Midlake -The Trials of Van Occupanther
And for randomocity's sake, check out Sigur Ros or Jonsi :)
It's punk goes pop.
Metal remixes of today's popular music like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, SIA ect..
It sounds so good! Almost like it was meant to sound like that!
This link will have other remakes listed in the suggestions, so if you like this one, you'll for sure like the others.

I've taken a few cross country driving trips. Good music is as necessary as food and water... maybe more so
My favorite of the week is "Hurricane" by Halsey though. -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Woi3ytaq1O8
https://soundcloud.com/magic-sword/.....sword-volume-1
Check out the new album from Tallest Man on Earth if you haven't listened to him he is fantastic, Explosions in the Sky is my personal favorite for road trips. You seem to listen to a lot of stuff similar to me (as mentioned above) so try Fake Problems, Gaslight Anthem, Band of Horses, Deer Tick, Lucero.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1pT1ZjAFXs
Baltimore Blues No. 1 by Deer Tick. They came through NC with The Mountain Goats and blew me away.
http://www.npr.org/2015/07/02/41948.....ylist-is-ready
A lot of variety, decent stuff.
Dntel, Balam Acaab, Tokimonsta - electronica
Cpt. Beefheart (Bluejenas, Safe as Milk, Doc at the Radar Station) - but beware, his music is weird.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0IY49VbF6s
https://youtu.be/SRmWD9nhv7E
https://youtu.be/v7Gsx1sFZro
https://youtu.be/W1ZoBRQ0R9w
Lydia is a nice folkish indie rock kind of thing you might like perhaps.
I also have a thing or two of my own if you care to check it out :) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16400783/
http://youtu.be/xdCZAZiTCHs
http://youtu.be/ltV7dNxuYeY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6In.....X9Zi5Ms8QafwO3
Also I have a ton more songs in my playlist here if you want to see if there is anything interesting in there
>https://www.youtube.com/playlist?li.....AJIkb-_gywncKy
For 70s classic rock, there are bands like Aerosmith, Uriah Heep, Boston, Foreigner, and REO Speedwagon (especially their 70s albums prior to Hi Infidelity, which had more of a hard rock sound than the power ballads they later became famous for). For something with a more prog bent to it, try Kansas, Rush, Styx, and getting more overtly prog there is Yes, Genesis (especially 1976 and before), Pink Floyd.
Two albums I recommend listening to straight through as a whole album: The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, and Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues (the latter alternates between the band and a symphony orchestra, to good effect).
Would you accept spanish song suggestions?
Ex: Dulce soledad - Enjambre
But for music, I have a lot of 80s/90s etc and then a bunch of furry stuff...
Have you looked around FA? I've got a journal (part one of probably three by the time I am done) of furry artists I have downloaded music off of FA and sound cloud etc...
Here's a link to the journal!
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6294097/
The Cult, Love. Hard to get more eighties: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?li.....9DE4985D7FB112
Anything by The Inkspots. Everything we have, every band, every song from contemporary to newest wave, we owe to The Inkspots. Just as a sample, that timeless classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l6vqPUM_FE
RAMMSTEIN. Keine weiteren Erlauterungen erforderlich: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgJkkTzmbzc Only Rosenrot is listed as a full album, but their entire discography is fantastic. Look for Rammstein(self titled album), Sehnsucht, Mutter, Reise Reise, Liebe ist fur alle da, and the EP of Mein Land that includes two remixes and the single Vergiss Uns Nicht.
And finally, my latest obsession, Hozier. One album out, again self titled, and the only other band besides U2 I gave a damn about in 2014. My favorite is only available if you buy the whole album, but its well worth it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5I-ttgLKaU
Have a fun trip.
My favorite is Ísjaki: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dF6E47Pn6mY
Just listen to that on repeat. Forever
Just FREAKING AMAZING like the whole Sky Blue album. One of those creations which are correcting my mood in a bad times.
