The problem with religious folk (pt2 the pastor edition)
This is why you'll never see me back in church, and if you do it's not for the fellowship. Would more likely be there just for the worship (something i could just do at home).
Pastor:
Just walk away from these lost souls. . They are blind and naked and wretched?
Like abraham we are strangers in a strange land?
Pastor James Ledbetter
They call us bainwashed but they fail to realize they are the ones who are brainwashed to believe there is no Jesus by society. .. Jesus said marvel not because the world hates you because it first hated him. They mock and stalk children not because they are children but because they Love Jesus.. be blessed sister Carrie?.. Paul said its not flesh and blood we war against but principality and the forces of darkness ?
Me:
Perfect example of why others won't respect you or your opinion. You don't share in conversation or debate. You throw in and push your agenda on people and run. Childish. It's like covering your ears and singing "I can't hear you." How do you think people are going to respond to others who act that way?
We are brainwashed because we want proof? How is wanting facts that you have yet to provide being brainwashed? I don't think you fully grasp what brain washing is. It's like programming the mind so one only thinks and perceives things a certain way and trust in those core values that have been instilled into them by teaching them in specific ways and not deviating from that thought process. If one were truly brain washed, they would not be curious, or ask questions that would contradict what was taught to them.It is fallacious of you to state freedom of thought is brainwash. I don't think you fathom just how many people you actually hurt with your erred views, the potential you limit and the lives you ruin.
Remembeer there's a difference in giving an opinion you're taught, and giving an opinion through observation, which is much more plausible and more likely to be a fact. ?
Pastor:
its not opinion its fact but people like you are so repobate you dont know when you have been fooled by the devil. The devil has you so bckwards that you stalk little children and mock them because they Love Jesus...how sad...
and childish? I saw a comment you left on a puppet show video on youtube..and i quote "Aww yeee! Coming to RF are ya? Would love to hang with ya sometime wuff." all you internet gangsters are the same. One day you will face the God you rejected...what will you say mr wuff?
Hanging with a puppet? Really? And you call loving Jesus childish?
I don't debate with children.
Me:
going in order with your posts;
because I left the church I'm without principle? Another fallacious argument. I don't need a book, church, nor government to tell me who I can call sister and brother. I don't need to wait until someone conforms to my standards or beliefs to consider them an equal. I view every single person on this planet as a sister and a brother whether they believe in a God or not. they are another human being like me and deserve the same respect and freedoms I have. Also, look around the comments section on this video. Do see any posts made by myself attacking these kids? You made the same mistake Carrie tried accusing me of. Just because the uploader of this video had a plethora of negative and puerile things to say about these kids, as well as just about every poster on this video, you put me in the same boat?
LOL. This paragraph has me laughing. Can't believe what I just read from someone who considers himself an adult. You see sports fans? People that like ball games, fights and racing etc etc. You see Harry Potter fans? People into science fiction and fantasy. You see action junkies, people that love parkour and free running, high wire walking etc etc. Are you going to call them all childish for having an interest? What does myself having an interest in anthropomorphic characters have to do with my maturity? Now it's seems you misinterpret the differences of maturity and immaturity (aka acting adult and childish). My mannerism and how I talk to my friends has nothing to do with my maturity. I can express myself how I please and however i choose that makes others and myself happy. Internet gangster. laughs Also, the way I talk to my friends has nothing to do with this current conversation, it's part of the past, so why bring it up? Something completely off point and irrelevant to what we're talking about? Just saying, if this was a court room and you were a lawyer, you'd be lacking in credibility on elephantine proportions. Digging something up completely irrelevant from the past. shakes head just wow. There are no words for how completely redundant that was. shrugs moving on.
Ah, got you with fallacious reasoning again. I never said believing in Jesus was childish. Trying to put words into my mouth again. Your argumentation is weak, man. Sorry to say (not really). Further, you do know there is a person in that suit right? There are people in those costumes that I wish to hang out with and last I checked, hanging out with friends was ok.
Well it's a good thing i'm 28 then, so please, continue debating because you haven't presented one thing worth my time that isn't unworthy of mockery, which I have not done ,mind you, and you go and call me a child? Now before you go "you called me a child first." No, I didn't. I said the ACT of what you people do is childish. I didn't say your belief was childish, I didn't say wanting a relationship with God is childish, I gave you an example of the act, which you pretty much do, is childish. So if you misunderstood, here it is again. You can't get into a conversation close minded only intending to get your point across then "cover your ears and sing 'I can't hear you.'" That is what I stated.
Thank God for separation of church and state. Lord knows what a catastrophe would befall America if those of your intellect were in power. Again, i'll let Joan of Arc be an example here.
BTW, if you found me condescending and offensive in this post, just remember you condescended to me first. I still have my gloves on, man. I'm holding back. I'm trying to keep this conversation civilized and respectful. You're the one making it hard. You were the one who talked down to me and labeled me from the start, just because I don't share the same view as you. Yet, somehow you'll turn this around (fallaciously) and say you're the one being persecuted. Also, worth noting, you seemed quick to call Carrie sister and not once have you called me brother. Just more observation to make a conclusion that you don't consider others equal to you unless they share the same belief. By looking at this, one could conclude that religion is just a struggle for power and supremacy. Now how can someone who chooses who will be equal to them, call someone else who considers all equal to be reprobate (a word you misspelled)? Already judging me, assuming the role of God, like so many others.
If you'd like a little portion into who I am and my views;
I was born an Atheist, discovering God at the age of 17. I was baptized as Christian Pentecostal, though I now just say I am a believer of Jesus Christ. I denounce religion for my own personal reasons. If you use God's name as a advocate to hate or discriminate against another person in any way or form, you do not know God, you do not practice what you preach nor do you abide by God's word. How someone can dismiss a simple line, "Love they neighbor as you Love thyself," so easily when it comes to certain people is beyond me.
No matter who you are, your views, beliefs or faith, in my eyes you are my brother and sister. We may be of different colors, shapes and sizes. We may be born into different worlds but we are all born on the same earth and under one sky. In my eyes we are equal. You bleed like me, feel pain like me. You can feel happiness like me and be sad like me. You are no less a human being than I am.
Try as you might, it was not a book that died for your sins. It's not a building that died for your sins. Money, government, religion etc etc. None of it died for your sins. None of those will save you, so don't pretend me denouncing religion is an automatic ticket to hell.
Reply or not, I believe I'm done here. I don't believe you'll offer me any teaching, useful information or whatever have you that wouldn't be completely biased. Peace

Out of curiosity, have you heard of a film called "Persecuted"?
I watched it out of morbid curiosity.
YouTube comments, forums, etc. - where trolls and most people believe that being negative & trash-talking (shit-posting) is the only way to make it in life. They almost seem like a tangible cancer. Dwelling on these is a big form of "sweating the small stuff" online.
Romans 13:8-10
Follower of Christ or not, no one is perfect. I am sorry you've had a bad experience with these two people, but please, do not group all "religious folk" in such a generalized way. Some people take the idea of preaching from the Bible to far. We're called to be witnesses, that's it. You want to make the choice not to believe, that's your choice. We are all free to make that choice. People like this person make me sad for what they cause people, like yourself, to do and believe about the rest of us. :P
It's not just these two. All over youtube, Disqus, Daily News, Christian Forums etc etc, I've seen some abhorring conversations and i've gotten into plenty of arguments about homosexuals and other sinners. Now I know there are trolls out there, but as one person pointed out, you can't call everyone a troll for having a different view from yourself. Knowing that everyone i get in a heated argument with is not a troll I came to something of a conclusion. Trolls act the way they do because their identity is hidden. They are free from retaliation by hiding behind a monitor and fake name. What's to stop a Christian from doing the same? They act all nicey nice in church, but what if the internet is a way to express their true feelings without the fear of judgement from others? This is the reason I most likely won't go back, because I don't truly know whom I'm associating myself with.
Also, hi man! It's been a good while. How ya been? Missing seeing the ticklish dragon around =p
Here's a quote from him:
"Spiritual maturity has nothing to do with how many years you’ve been in church or how long you’ve known the Lord. It has everything to do with what kind of fruit you are displaying."
He even stated that he allows anyone to attend his...speeches, yes - SPEECHES. I'm not even going to call them sermons.
It'd be nice if more religious people could share his outlook.
my tough exactly except that I actually told them out loud to jerks that were harrassing me and then they poisoned me .... should have kniffed them in the face
