There is civility, even in depravity.

It shall be known as Unitism. Unitism is my concept that humans of all faiths, genders, races, orientations, etc. can be united together for the betterment of our species. It can be a place of shelter for those seeking honest theological discussions with people of other faiths and beliefs. Unitism will be founded upon the principles of love, mutual respect, and altruism. We are too divided as a species; I wish to bring us closer together, to help us understand our fellow humans and reach further than the stars. This is my dream for the human race.
And each one of them thinks that they'll win and take over.
Right now, Islam is spreading fast.
Any group of individuals who unite behind an idea, philosophy or whatnot has the potential to have extremism and anything present in any other religion, political organization, rights movement. Any number of people can be immature and say "It's this way, and fuck you if you think otherwise."

There's a lot of secular, non-religious organizations that have the same basic principles minus the stupid .. http://americanhumanist.org/ for instance.

happens to most if not all religions, doesn't it? It's the religious way of thinking itself that blocks reason and dissenting opinions - by definition holy things are immune to criticism. So at some point your potential religion will become just that
aaand I don't think you can build religion on reason - again by definition religion is a faith based system..
Knowing your set of goals and proposed methodology, and the similarity between your endeavor and countless others that failed, I'd say sitting on your ass and thinking on a better plan isn't such a bad idea ;)
