No request. No trade. No commission

I dont do request, ever. If I want to draw for free for someone it's my own decision to do so.
I dont do art trade. Waste of time and most are requests in disguise.
I'm no longer accept commission. Yeah yeah, the evil of Patreon, blah blah blah.
But I might accept commish again as an event of some sort just for fun. I always announce whenever I open for commish via journal.
stop sending me note for request, trade and commission
repeat offender will be ban.

this kind of ultimatum is a good way to loose new prospects for your market. some people will always pester you because they don't look. i suggest a second account of alternate contact method for private discussions, rather than threatening your possible patrons.
Now while I am forming a great distaste for Patreon and DO indeed think it's evil from a commissioner standpoint, I also can recognize you're an artist that wants to work on your own projects as well (like Forbidden Frontiers which totally deserves its Patreon crowdfunding). While I will personally miss even the chance to commission you through the 'original' channels, you deserve the right to draw what you want and how you want.
People need to accept you're human with the right to relax and do things that are enjoyable to you, not just some drawing robot on the net.

Journal might be replaced later and the info would be unseen.
Trades, I usually felt that should be between artists who know each other. Otherwise... what Xili said.
As for the mention of Patreon, this puts another arrow in the quiver for folks who don't like what the Patreon model has done to the furry art community. I regret that I didn't get in the commission queue when I had the chance; a chance I suppose will never arrive now. ZeusRalo's reply here is a tad bitter, but I certainly understand the angst.
I have right to decline any commission offer for any reason.
You might not believe me but I do care about my patrons. But some people just want to be dismissive about Patreon and how it can really helps artist.
Wishing for Patreon to fail is selfish and entitled mindset of some people. They just want artist to draw their character without considering the success of artist career.
I don't know much about Patreon but I do think the only legit concern about it is people using it to scam money.
sometime I dont like the design of the character. sometimes I dont like the theme., etc.
By your logic, we need to shut down internet too. because it has child porn on it or something.
It suck that there's people use Patreon to scam money but there's hundreds more legit content creator.
I never said anything about child porn, that's just disgusting and one of the reasons I left IB.
I fully believe that you care about your patrons. But with Patreon, here's my personal experience with it for the few artists who I'd signed up to follow:
The Patreon is fairly active at first. Sounds good! Then, one of two things happens. I had one artist who I liked and respected gather up a large Patreon fanbase, and then switched all of his art postings to a higher tier of support after a few months. Naturally, people felt like this was a bait and switch. But usually what happens is the postings just taper off after awhile. Little activity in the Patreon despite the best intentions. But the payments keep processing.
I'm not going to dissuade you from setting up Patreon. But I do want to give a warning about what you might be getting yourself into. Patreon is like always, always being under the thumb of impending commissions. You don't get to -not- draw. You don't get to take a month off. You don't get to just... not feel like posting anything for awhile. Because people are paying money for the service and that creates an obligation. As you might have found with commissions, good will often disappears quickly when money gets involved. At least with commissions you have the option of deciding not to take more commissions. But unless you actually shut off payments for Patreon (is this even a thing? I've never heard of this before)... well, like I said. I've never never heard of you stiffing a commissioner; it just doesn't seem like you. I've known artists who have taken down the Patreon due to the pressure to perform. But the temptation for that steady stream of income without technically -having- to do anything for it led others down a pretty dark path.
You mention "success of artist career," I'm not sure what you mean by it. Development of yourself as an artist? Attempting new styles and character types? Different genres and subjects than people might normally want to see?
I've never "gate" any of my art. All art that I post on Patreon I also post on DA, FA and Pixiv, depending on content and rating(NSFW) albeit at lower resolution.
And you should also know that artist can set their Patreon as "pay per work" "pay per week(or 2 week)" or "pay per month"
So if you think pay per month is not fair for you, then you should support artist that set their Patreon as pay per work
If you feel I'm quite protective of Patreon because it basically save my career. Yes it does put on some pressure, but I can ask my patrons for a break for one content and working on other content for a change of scenery. If some patron feel that my content is lacking or dissatisfied, they can stop supporting me at anytime, and I would understand. I can't say how many patron satisfied with my content but it seem the amount of support say for itself.
I really loved the first one you did for me, the commission.
I would've loved to work work with you again, but hey. I understand. I'm just glad you're doing okay for yourself and have shifted your efforts... yeah. Keep rocking.
And I can still be hopeful maybe, you know? =)
