if the phone came with a USB cord you may need the EXACT cord that it came with, I have a Motorola Razor M and it will charge on any USB cable but I can only transfer things on the EXACT cable it came with

Did you install the required compatibility software?

I didn't know I needed compatibility software. I thought I could just plug my phone into my labtop do what I need to do and be done with it. I tried all of the other entries but they all gave me the same answer

I had a look Samsung's support section on their website and you're able to download the driver for USB connections without needing the exact USB the phone came with. Maybe give it a try? I don't know if you use windows/mac but check it out. :3 http://developer.samsung.com/techni.....o?v=T000000117

If not you might just have to get a new usb from Amazon or something. :/

do you have developer options enabled on your phone with usb debugging checked?

I have the S2 still and use it for internet access and i had to have those 2 things enabled for my laptop to reconize it

Also had to do this with my mothers S3
