Looking for some direction with drawing

All I seem to be doing is doodling inbetween commissions so I don't get rusty, tweaking my inks as I go.

Really I know I should colour and possibly switch to digital but I really don't find any joy in colouring at all and my laptop is too unreliable to even let my tablet work without lag, plus I kinda just like to work with pens and paper

Not sure honestly. Just feel like I'm stuck in a bit of a rut and not sure what direction to go

Well, you could kinda do what I did and start doing lineless art like I did. And I don't even have a tablet, I've just been using a mouse and basing most of my lineless pics off actual drawings I made. Maybe practice on some of your older works?

I think as long as you're challenging yourself it's a good thing. That doesn't have to involve coloring if you don't enjoy it. Choose an artist you admire and, as an experiment, see if you can imitate their style. You might learn something in the process you can use in your normal drawings, or evolve your own style.

If you feel like you need some direction, why not look for some goals or new things you might like in art?
there's plenty of techniques, structures, styles and methods to explore. owo
and i agree with sovhiel, you may learn something helpful for your art!
