Absolutely :) It's got a very, very good line engine, and it's really easy to work with most of the time. Coming from Photoshop, it took a bit of getting used to, but I never open PS anymore.

Depends on what issue you're dealing with. For me, I had problems with position tracking, the cursor insisted on being an inch to the left of the pen. I do, actually, have advice on it, though. Go through Wacom's uninstall process (look it up, it's elaborate), reinstall with driver version 6.3.6-3. If that doesn't work, try 6.3.4-3, but this one might be a little less stable.

And yes, I know these are two-three year old drivers. I talked to Wacom about this shit, they basically said "Thanks for the money, go fuck yourself".

Why these two? Well, specifically I had to use these because any of the MODERN drivers make Photoshop stop working properly, the line engine fucks up.

well my problem is a little different.. it lets me use my pen just fine on the cintiq screen i can press all the buttons and mess with stuff.. but it won't register on the canvas area >< I was really hoping to NOT have to redo my drivers.. I have the CD my cintiq came with so i can get the drivers from that i think.. not sure which version it is as my Cintiq is more than 5 years old :P

If you don't use photoshop, you can download and use the brand new drivers from Wacom's site. Just remember to completely clean out the old ones using the process they describe.

Well...since money is short...*ahem*yarr*ahem*

rather tempting looking... I want to learn how to draw but know I lack the ambition and drive to actually keep practicing, and am not sure if I would keep using it, let alone since my work requires photoshop from time to time and I would fear growing too distant from it... Really on the fence on buying it..!

How would you say it compares to autodesk sketchbook pro? I've been pretty happy with that, but I do like having options!
I like that with sketchbook, the controls are more designed around using a tablet or touch interface, where you can zoom and rotate with your fingers, then draw with your stylus, still though, I think I'll get this anyway!

Couldn't really say, I haven't tried Sketchbook pro myself. Personally I think MS/CSP looks and feels better though, from what I've seen of Sketchbook.

It's sort of halfway between Sketchbook's "drawing with a computer" (the presence of a French Curve tool in Sketchbook does rather suggest its programmers do not actually know what a computer is :P) and Photoshop's "drawing with a filing cabinet." It's a little less elegant for just sketching but has far more tools and is much better for colouring and using special layers.

Meanwhile, CSP has better tools than Photoshop :D

If you ever want to try it out, they released a special copic edition when they partnered with them to add the copic color library to the software. It's limited in functionality, but has no time limit on how long you can use it, kinda neat! http://copic.jp/en/sketchbook-ce.html

hey thx feretta about for telling everyone about the price on this program def was worth it it was $50 and it went to $15 it was def a good buy and u and others on furr have maybe inspired to consider using it to create some arts. To be honest i never did art much in my life but watching u and others stream I might consider using it to create some arts so thx again.
