Looking for Scenic inspiration

I'm going to be taking my beautiful canon eos camera and take some picture of my home (the pacific northwest) and want to use them to paint backgrounds for my pictures.
I'm interested to know what you guys might like. So far, the ideas I have are to take pictures of the wheat fields and my favorite hiking trail, as well as the bedroom sets at Macy's (heheh, I think they found me a little creepy, but dang, those dusters are pretty). Sorta wondering if I can ask the local historical hotel if I can take pictures of their rooms.Do you think I might get some good reference pictures if I go to an antique store, or would they be too cluttered?
Does anyone else do this? I mean, I take some awkward selfies to reference my anatomy all the time (like srsly, I had the most weird look on my face trying to get just the right angle for my arm and hand.

Oooh, yes, there are some abandoned tracks like two miles from my house and I can really see a great picture there.
I love water quite a bit, myself. I hope to get some good photos.
Do you have a little waterfall there? Here around my home isn't some kind of waterfall in miles, so that would be a more rare thing.
Maybe a glade and/or an edge of the forest with nice sun ray play. That's kinda dreamy and mystical :)
Haha, I use my own hands as reference when it comes to positioning and anatomy, though I need to correct the proportions a bit when it comes to female characters. That must look awkward spinning my own hand, looking at it from different angles, stretching my arm and staring at the shade play. Artists are always a bit strange, I guess :D
And on a more macabre note, pics of old abandoned asylums and sanatoriums near where I live.
