I never got to meet this man. I only saw him on my monitor, as my husband, and I watched Nintendo Directs. The way he pronounces his English, to the way he apologizes when the world gives the company flack for not doing something they want.
We have had so much death in our lives of many famous people. However, this news alone has truly broken my heart. I am trying really hard not to cry right now.
I was lucky to have a brunch meeting with Iwata before he was made President of Nintendo back at E3 2000. 16 and working for a small video game company in NJ. Being the only game tester for the company. I was brought with to experience E3 and speak to some of the Nintendo people to pitch games for the GBA at the time. I was not expecting those I would have brunch with to be Iwata and Miyamoto. It was a one in a lifetime experience. Iwata was someone I knew in passing due to Kirby franchise and Earthbound and other such games. Meeting him in person was a monumental day. He was a very kind and warm guy. While we were there for business talk, they took the time to just shoot the breeze with me about games. Which was my favorite game. What I liked or didnt like in them. Was just like talking with good friends about the good and the bad of gaming. Getting to talk to Iwata about Kirby, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, Fzero and other favorite games of my life. I won't soon ever forget that day. May he rest now after 13 years of stress from running Nintendo. R.I.P Mr Iwata.

RIP
But, hopefully everyone understands that I have a warm heart and many wonderful memories when I say:
May he go... *makes motions with my hands in parallel towards the computer screen*...DIRECTLY to heaven!
RIP Iwata.
