Hey all!
Updates will be very slow if not nonexistant this weekend as I travel to rural Nebraska for a wedding. I know I've probably mentioned my... Disdain for not only this area but my family that lives there before, but things are going to be a little different this time.
last semester I had to take some time off school for two funerals. the funerals were for my grandmother and her brother (my great-uncle, essentially my grandfather figure). Their deaths hit me a little hard but maybe not for the reason you would expect... We had a very difficult relationship and never really reached a level of understanding before they passed. I was going to be a pall bearer for my great uncle, would have sort of helped me reconcile it a bit until my aunt (also from NE) shot that idea down, because 'pallbearers can't be female. We've never done it that way and we're not going to start now'.
ANYWAY It will 1, be interesting to be in Nebraska for a celebration, and not a funeral and 2, be interesting to be there without the intimidating figures that were my grandparents. Still not super happy about having to leave. But family is family, and I do care about them so unfortunately I probably won't be posting much until Monday.
