Can ppl live off patreon?
I'm just curious to know if anyone does this, like artists and stuff. I mean would it be a good idea or a very bad one?
Cuz I am pretty sure I'm fired from my job due to attendance and I've resorted to pulling A LOT of all-nighters just to avoid being late for work. No other places around here will offer me the same pay/hours to compensate for the loss of this job and I have things I NEED to pay for each month. SO, I figured if I could get enough patreon support to help me pay for the important things at least that'll help, yeah? I could offer art and sometimes fursuit things as patreon rewards. I just need to know if this is a good option that I can resort to if needed. I have yet to use patreon and right now I cannot make fursuit work a full-time job. Also another benefit if this is something that could work, I could work around my own sleep schedule which I desperately need cuz it's super messed up and I either sleep 12 hours or more, 2-3 hours or not at all and I need to get it on a more consistant schedule. I ahve to drink 1 or more energy drinks a day just to keep up with stuff and one time I was up for about 36 hours and during that span of time I drank like.. 4 energy drinks XD Aaah. I woke up at 4pm today after a 12 hour sleep and when I went to bed last night I had been awake for nearly 40 hours!!
Things are not easy for me and stress eats me alive sometimes. I need to figure something better out but I feel too stressed and panicked all the time to just sit and think, I cannot even organize my thoughts and most of the time when I type up journals like this I just delete them and give up but I will force myself to post this one cuz I do actaully wanna know of patreon will work and I kinda need to know cuz I am sure I'll be fired tomorrow XD
Anyway, thanks for any input!

It certainly is possible, but it is highly unlikely anyone who isn't EXTREMELY popular is going to be able to make a living off of patreon. Especially depending on how much you need to make.

Yeah, I'd probably have to offer some really epic patreaon rewards to get enough support. The trick would be balancing a budget for rewards along with time, since I have fursuits to work on and I can't spare all the time in the world to make tons of headbases and handpaws and small parts, etc.. XD But if this does become a serious idea I'll work on figuring out the perfect balance for sure! I am just not sure if anyone has done this before. I also have to keep in mind taxes as well as what would happen if people decide to back out D:

Mhm. I'd say be sure to do the record-keeping yourself; people will pledge then immediately unpledge, so don't give anyone any sort of reward upon joining, give them the reward once the payment has gone through. Otherwise, again, I'm not sure of your budget but it might actually be more worth your while to try to catch yourself up on your suit work, and then try to finish X amount of commissions every month. (Personally, I'm trying to do just that; if I can finish these commissions and get an industrial machine, if I get a partial commission every month, that will cover rent and some food.)
