Happy Friday all! Apologies for another later than wanted Paw-Mail, but today is for a bit of an alternate reason - I was waiting to see if the Character Highlight owner was able to get back to me in time or not. While interested and wanting to do so, it seems I'm not going to get the response in time, and don't want to wait any longer to post this. :/

SO... for that reason, I'm going to take VampireKitty up on her advice and feature one of my beloved charr characters. So, it's a bit different a character highlight than usual, but I hope you still enjoy it. Sometimes I can't do much about lack-of-responses. :/

FEETS! Man, I love it when modem does his paw-portraits. :3 Here we have the awesome paws of Thoren (1st pic) and Zeus in the second picture. REALLY like the Zeus ones. :3 Not just amazing pad details, but the pose has such a nice splay to the toes, and enough of an arch to make those delightful wrinkles on the sole below the ball pad. Mmmf... just divine!

Character Highlight: Trissa Jadeclaw!

Again - big of a different highlight here; due to not getting a response in time from the person that was to be highlighted today, I'm going to highlight one of my charr characters for y'all. (I'm sure with how my luck works, I'll get the response moments after sending the paw mail, heh).

Background: The early parts of Trissa's life were, for the most part, pretty normal by charr standards. She was one of five cubs in her litter, had a mother who was an Ash Legion Captain and Warrior. Her father did not stick around much after mating with her mother - an act of passion, more than any bond, so she knew little of him. Then again, she knew little of her mother either since she and her siblings were handed off to a fahrar in traditional charr fashion when she was about 11 months old..

As she grew up and trained, her natural affinity towards nature, animals and superb tracking skills made her seem a natural for the Ranger profession, and she embraced it with passion. The years slipping by, and she did well in all her endeavours, finding she was best a the long bow and greatsword. By the time she entered her teens, she was often helping in training the younger cubs, and taking on minor fahrar duties. By the age of 16, she was on a minor mission with several other of her fahrar warband - a mission that was supposed to be in a relatively safe area near Smokestead. Unbeknownst to her and the adults of the fahrar, Flame Legion spies had set up patrols to watch for young females to capture and take back as slaves.

They did not see the attack coming, and before they knew it, they were surrounded by Flame Legion soldiers. They were not well armed, or armoured. Two males with them tried to fight, but the Flame Legion slew them, and took the remaining four females (including Trissa) back to their camp. They were to cook, clean, and "tend" the males. And those who were passive and fertile, would be used to bear the cubs of the Flame Legion.

Trissa's imprisonment lasted over three long years. Her proficient cooking skills were quickly put to use, as were her abilities to train animals and maintain swords and bows. Her attitude, however, frequently got her in trouble. She was strong willed, fearless - and never backed down from the males. She was also fiercely protective of the other females, doing her best to keep the males away from them, and often redirect their punishments to herself.

She was often beaten, whipped, cut, burned - tortured in whatever way it took for the males to feel some worthless sense of power and control… and more importantly, to keep their wrath from her friends. She would do her best to retreat into her mind, think of the most pleasurable, arousing and wonderful fantasies and play them out as livid and strong as she could during her punishments as a form of escape. Over time, it caused her brain to re-wire itself, linking pain and pleasure in a way that would leave her a masochist even after her escape, though it is an aspect of herself she keeps very private.

Her strong will, however, meant she was not what the Flame Legion wanted for a breeding female, and despite her desperate efforts, that horrible fate befell her friends and other female with them. As the ultimate punishment for her defiance, a Flame Shaman used to spell to forever make her barren.

Her own fate would have been even worse with their growing dislike of her defiance, but in early 1315AE, the Black Citadel was able to find the hidden camp and mount an assault. The camp was surrounded by small tanks and mortars set up by the Iron Legion, lad by Centurion Primus Zrahelim, who's Ranger mate Anu had found the Flame position. Trissa and the other females were liberated, and the young cubs taken to be raised in a proper fahrar and proper education.

Now 19, soon to be 20, Trissa joined up in full with the Ash Legion and set about on as many missions as she could to take on Flame Legion problems head-on. She attained the rank of Legionnaire in in 1321. Her ferocity and resolve had only grown stronger, and it continued for several years despite being haunted by the years of abuse at the hands of the rogue faction. She was unaware of just how much it affected her until in 1322 she got word that one of her warband sisters who had been imprisoned with her was badly injured in an attack in which she had tried to commit suicide by giving herself up to the enemy.

Trissa often visited the medical ward barracks to try and spend as much time with her as she could, talk to her, help her, and in doing so, she began to talk to others as well. It became shockingly apparent that the emotional scars of ordeals like theirs were far worse than physical scars. She asked for a leave from active duty, and took up a new effort to assist in the wards - helping battered, broken charr mind their minds as much as their bodies, finding that she had a natural knack for reading people, and knowing how to help them.

In 1328, she met the most unlikely of people who would eventually become her most devoted mate. While she had had many relationships on and off over the years, male or female, most were more for fun than anything else. While helping a beautiful young charr named Meera Scortchpaw recover from both injury and trauma from the Flame Legion, she came to know a human named Ariela Deltrii - a former separatist now living in the Citadel, aligned to the High Legions. Ariela's devotion as a friend and fellow soldier to Meera was fierce and powerful. Meera was well known as a tease and flirt, and more than once, males were a little too interested in her presence. The little human fought them back, and would not leave the side of her friend. In the two days Meera's recovery took, Trissa and Ariela talked a lot, and the more she talked with the human, the more she really liked her.

Around the time of the Meera incident, Trissa also returned to active duty, having set up a network of charr in the ward over the years who specialized in helping with trauma. Torga Desertgrave, the Ash Tribune assigned to Trissa's command, felt it was time for her to return to what she was best at. After a number of very successful missions, Trissa was awarded the rank of Centurion in mid Q1 of 1328.

In the weeks that followed, she would find that Ariela felt strongly about her as well. As they were both pansexuals, eventually (albeit through much nervous consideration), Trissa decided to ask the human if she wanted to explore more than just friendship, and Ariela agreed. They became mates, and though they both are poly-amorous, the relationship has been mostly closed until meeting Kai Frostfang in mid 1328. After helping Kai with past trauma regarding the loss of his own human mate, he became a close knit mate along with Ariela - an unexpected, but welcome outcome.


Personality: Trissa is a very casual charr. She does not wear elaborate armour, preferring what looks more like thrown-together leather bits and pieces to form her long coat and camouflage. She does not stress easily in most situations, and tends to, if anything, speak with a wry wit, even when it's perhaps not the most appropriate timing. That can make her a bit of a troll at times - loving to play up on any word-slips or weaknesses of friends, but never to the point of hurting them. She is also deeply compassionate and caring. Despite the rugged looking exterior, her ability to know when someone is hurting, emotionally and mentally, will prompt her to try and help in whatever way she can. She has much wisdom from her years, and tends to be very good in relating to others. She is also a bit of a tease - for those close to her, she is quiet willing to be playful, knowing she's got the looks to pull it off.


Footpaws: Trissa takes VERY good care of her footpaws, and they are quite beautifiul. Her ankles bare scars from the shackles used when she was s Flame Legion slave (as such much of her body), but her feet are untouched otherwise. She personally does not have a thing for footpaws, but her human mate Ariela certainly does, and she is delighted to be able to allow her mate to enjoy them in whatever way she wants. She is also happy to share them with Tyria's most infamous visitor dragon, Sera (who is a common appearance in our personal lore). While not personally being into feet, she does also enjoy getting them massaged by Ariela or Kai, and finds the passionate pampering she gets from Sera to be quite a soothing if not unique massage.
