One of the strangest things about growing up and being “technically adult” in the modern world is how differently I seem to have approached the ideas of things like careers and hobbies when compared to my parents. It's true that when fill my time with hobbies such as gaming the experience doesn't differ all that much from having a relaxing evening in front of the television – but the more prosaic or practical hobbies which older adults enjoy don't draw me in at all.
