HEY OVARIES AND BROVARIES, I COULD USE YOUR HELP!
Now that I'm finally back home (presumably for a stretch that will allow me to finish up commissions and all that jazz) I've been able to reply to comments and notes and work on art and UPLOAD A MASSIVE ART DUMP SORRY 'BOUT THAT.
But all this activity has me feeling super social and generally okay!
And it also leads to me having all these ideas, so I'ma tell you guys about one.

STEVEN UNIVERSE GEMSONA ART GIVEAWAYS
I'm thinking that, as a 'no pressure warmup' kinda thing- I could do one free chibi(ish) drawing every week for one person. I'm THINKING Fridays, and the only catch is--
I want SU Gemsonas.
GIMME YOUR GEMSONA IN THE COMMENTS ON THIS JOURNAL, and each Friday I'll do a little colored doodle of one of them! Not sure how I'll pick yet, or if it will be randomly generated, but I'm so excited to see all the different gemsonas out there!
Seriously though, it won't be anything big or super detailed- imagine something like this (the little chibi saying 'METAL'): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14545904/ but colored and digital.
Looking forward to seeing all the different gemsonas out there!

TRAVELING QUESTIONS
This isn't something I can do right now, but something has inspired me to PLAN something like this. I've traveled a lot- but the thing is, not to a lot of places. I've visited Savannah upwards of 100-something times (which is not an exaggeration and is very embarrassing that I visit monthly but don't live there yet. We're working on that though.)
The only other places I've been are:
-Georgia
-South Carolina
-North Carolina (hardly, it was Carowinds.)
-Tennessee
-Texas
-Florida
I'm interested in doing a road trip and traveling through AT LEAST all 48 states, but if we're dreaming big- lets throw Alaska and Hawaii in there too.
A good friend of mine lost her husband to cancer in February. Both
and I had worked with her husband, and he worked with him up until he had to quit because of how much the cancer had taken out of him.
It was clear cell sarcoma, and he held out until the day after his wife's birthday. They were two of the most inspiring and wonderful people I've ever met, and right now Ashley is traveling through 48 states with their two young children, spreading his ashes at places they had wanted to visit but weren't able to.
I can't say my roadtrip would be that symbolic or noble, but I would definitely be thinking of them the entire time.
That being said,
I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT IS OUT THERE! Even my mum and dad haven't traveled since before I was born. And my dad only traveled for work, or visiting family in South America. Mum has always been down south and had zero interest in leaving Georgia. But I want to experience different places, so if you happen to live in a state (or even outside of America and know of another neat destination place!) PLEASE feel free to talk about it in the comments and I'll put it on a travel bucket list.
(I could personally talk all day about Savannah but I won't reverse my request and bore you dudes and dudettes with that noise!)

SITE EXPANSION
So, as of right now I've posted my art on FurAffinity, DeviantArt, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Gaiaonline, and Weasyl.
But I've been considering getting a SoFurry or InkBunny account to expand where my art goes. (Which is probably going to end in miserable failure because I hate starting out on sites that I know nothing about and even if I learn how to use them, I wind up not wanting to post all my art on all those sites.)
For the hell of it though, I decided to consider being more active! So if you guys know anything about those sites, have any opinions on if they are worth using, or know of any other art sites that you think are better I'm all ears!
OKAY THANK YOU GUYS FOR READING THIS AND BEING AWESOME, AS ALWAYS.

when i was planning a road trip i came across it and it was a really nicely planned out map of just how/where to go!
my gemsona is here :D
http://sta.sh/2r6jteoe4rd?edit=1
colors soon /squint
Did you ever do the road trip?
i felt like i was in a movie where they just stop at random landmarks haha
it was ALOT of fun and i recommend it!
more fun than just hitting popular sites is like the random stopping at diners that have a weird special pie or finding a doughnut shop that also does weddings!
its just a lot of fun finding new things
http://img01.deviantart.net/8630/i/.....ke-d8mjwsk.png my gemsona Tanzanite
and a fusion of her and my friend's GS http://img02.deviantart.net/1804/i/.....ke-d8mto00.png
what a cool idea, btw!
Have you ever watched the sun set over the ocean? I've lived in Georgia my entire life and we can only watch it rise over the ocean ;w;
Also, because of this journal I finally looked up Steven Universe. I've only watched the first 3 episodes so far, but it looks pretty spiffy! :3 I can't wait to learn more of the lore. I have no idea what gemsona I could make, but I'd pick something green, like emerald or maybe tourmaline. I also love blue goldstone. And my weapon would HAVE to be based on the double cresent crystal blades I drew oh so long ago: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/438461/ http://www.furaffinity.net/full/664477/
I can't wait to watch more episodes later. X3
http://sta.sh/01vv13esa0p5 Here is my sugilite.
I'd love to hear about it!
And people always associate me with Louisiana because of my name. They think 'LA' is an abbreviation for 'Lower Alabama' or 'Louisiana' or 'Los Angeles'. When it's literally just my name, just how some dudes are named CJ or whatever else
But I've never been, I do want to go to New Orleans- but the thing is, if I do this road trip I wanna get everything I can outta each state I visit, not just hit up one place and go.
Honest to god Baton Rouge is the best you'll get out of louisiana.
Also my gem is tourmaline but I'm trying so hard to come up with a design that's actually cute and not emo looking.
All I have so far are white cat rainboots :*
(And holy yesss, Savannah is where my heart stays.)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16360326/
and I live in Louisville KY now
And I fully recommend Oregon and Washington but I may be a little biased since I've lived in both places XD. Been to Fairbanks, Alaska and camped from there down to Seward and one of the small towns somewhere's around there. It was amazing.
I will just leave my Vori here: http://the-black-cats-tale.devianta.....rite-520823019
hope you have a great day~
Uguuuu gemsonas go! <3 Here is mine- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17150814/
Also as far as travel is concerned, you should at least take a short pit stop in West Virginia! It's an absolutely gorgeous state that doesn't get talked about much. Seriously if you're a fan of scenic overlooks or anything outdoors-y, this is the best place for it on the east coast.

Fire Opal
Here's my gemsona, Aquamarine http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17123847/
Thanks for the opportunity!
As for the travelling, I wish I could help you but I'm not even from America so advice from me would be a disaster ;w; Good luck, though!

i've been to maui and oahu islands in hawaii, i loved them both for different reasons. but i need to say - i HATE beaches/ocean and the first time we ever went i was so unhappy cause i thought it'd be hot and humid and everything i personally cannot stand (i mean i sucked it up and wasn't a butthole but inside i was like noooo ;o;). and then i got there...and it isnt humid or really even hot at all. it's pretty much a constant 80ish with no humidity, light breezes. the beaches are beautiful and the water is even better. it converted me to a beach lover and now i jump every time my parents offer to take us back lol. and the inner parts of the islands are PARADISE. i might be really biased because of jurassic park ok but...omg so beautiful ;o; i've heard the mainland hawaii (the big island) can get pretty humid and have more of a range of climate because it's much bigger than the rest of the islands. but with the smaller islands that ocean breeze keeps all the nasty parts of tropical weather away x3 aaand i know you can't really drive there - but it is REALLY worth it if you ever get a chance to go.
as for the northern states - hands down, everyone at least once in their lifetime needs to go to yellowstone. you just do. there is something so old worldy about it and you can just get lost for hours and hours and never get bored. (im a nature lover so...this is kinda only what i care about if you haven't noticed. i am so bad at knowing human places to go lmao). the black hills and badlands (and mount rushmore) are a must in south dakota. devils tower in wyoming is just crazy awesome to see and walk around. we road tripped through these states and just driving through the mountains and black hills and all that is so relaxing and beautiful. so definitely an A+ roadtrip.
of course i've been to eastern states too, florida's everglades are pretty neat even though i was about to melt the whole time x3. boston is pretty great but i actually really loved cape cod, ct more (my first intro to ben and jerry's cause here in missouri it was NOT a thing well at least not until the last few years.) philly is a city i actually really liked. funny story though - i was with my friends and one of them lives there so we were visiting her basically. she took us into the city and we're just walking around admiring all the cool architecture and stuff and we walked by this really really old looking set of buildings and i stop and im looking at it like...wait a minute...(the signs around really aren't that great and they were restoring parts so stuff was kinda blocked and whatnot) and i kept staring at it and stopping so they were like "what are you doing" and i was just like...."isn't this where they signed the deceleration of independence?" so they finally stopped and we walked all around this thing THREE TIMES before we found the tiny sign that said what the building was and yup...it was. we almost just walked right by it. so then we realized the liberty bell was close by and found that too. and yes we ran up and down the steps where rocky was filmed (the steps are disappointingly short...the movie lied lmao)
i've been to about half of the states but those are just some of my more memorable places. as for missiouri....there is...pretty much nothing here, even though i'd love to plug my state x3 like there is stuff here that people who live here find good to visit but coming from an outside state it's probably pretty lackluster. where im from we have the origins of the pony express and jesse james fairly close by and...we have a walmart...lmao SO EXCITING
my next two top places i want to visit are the grand canon and the redwood forests in california. i've wanted to go so bad for so long but various things kept getting in the way ;o; so yeah...i've been to probably 21-22 states for real and drove through probably 5 more. and i've also been to england, south africa, japan, and mexico. want to go to more places e.e
sorry this got long...i just really love traveling >.>
I'm one of those wack-nuts up in Illinois in the Chicago land area, home of the Blues Brothers and Ferris Bueller's Day Off~!
Its pretty ok here, a little dirty in some spots but its got its own charm. The Chicago beachfront is pretty killer as well as Navy Pear.
There's a couple beaches down from the city that have some cool cabin rentals and foresty nature stuff.
If you ever need to know anything about northern Illinois, lemmi know. I got chu boo~
I hope wherever you travel you find joy and good memories!!
As for gemsona, this is lil mama
Nowhere as beautiful as yours oh man *Q*

That's my gemsona. Hey name's Honey Topaz!
As for travelling, I live in Canada, so unless you're planning to drive through Canada to Alaska (which I would recommend!) I don't have much to offer!
I would suggest going through Vancouver though, it's really a sight to see, and you can see.... idk... the Olympic Flame?
Science World?
......... the aquarium? :P
My heart goes out to your friends for their loss.
Here's my gemsona: http://sta.sh/22a5pkwp8ccn
Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Muir Woods -- hell even the Truckee/Tahoe area!
All of the natural beauty you could want its unbelievable. My first trip to Yosemite actually physically took my breath away, its unlike anything I've ever seen in my life and I have to recommend it to anyone who wants to travel the country.
Also SoCal, most the beaches are bomb. If you go down to San Diego, my hometown, definitely hit up Coronado Beach and La Jolla beach. OB, PB and Mission too if you want the San Diego beach community experience. And totally vist North Park too - from what you've told us about Savannah that place is a lot like it.
If you drive, drive. Most places if you don't drive, you're walkin all over eastbumblefuck. Or cannot and you're stranded since they don't even have the courtesy to let there be sidewalks everywhere.
Be very careful in most states, high crime rates right now, lots of civil rights stuff goin on. New York, must see: Bronx Zoo. Please be extremely careful in New York. My mom was born n raised there, I still have family there, and visited every weekend for years. Manhattan is very nice and chill, but still do that thing.
I don't really like to travel, but I like car rides, so yeah... that and you've already been to Florida so :D
Massachusetts has it's things, like Boston xD Maine has lobsters. New Jersey has... toxic air. The Jersey Turnpike is not the greatest ride of your life. Vermont I hear is beautiful, more so in the fall. Rhode Island has LOVELY beaches and lil shops.
That's all I can think of right now.
Check it out! QwQ https://www.facebook.com/beautifule.....nburgh?fref=ts
I could go into more detail but really I had better not :V Edinburgh to me is like Savannah to you I think X3 It's an incredibly special place <333 I hope you get to live in your special place too soon bby because that would rock so hard <3333
Eehehehehe and you know about my dumb pink gem xD But I'll throw her into the mix as well, why not: http://garbagebabypasum.tumblr.com/.....ate-with#notes http://garbagebabypasum.tumblr.com/.....t-well-i#notes
Also, for travelling, I recently went to Savannah and I didn't even realize that it was such a haunted spooky town. If you're into ghosts and stuff, there's a hotel in downtown Savannah that has civil war ghosts walking the hallways. (I'm not into ghosts, it's one of my biggest fears but my cousins wanted to try it LOL)
Uhmmm, personally, I like travelling to places with like theme parks or water parks! Well sometimes well known like Disney Land/World and the like. That requires a bit of research though. I hope you get a lot of ideas from everyone! c:
Like the Pirates's House, even though it is a restaurant now it is attached to the oldest standing stone building in America's history. It has tunnels that travel from it's location on E Broad down to River Street, where Oglethorpe originally landed and where pirates would shanghai drunken soldiers onto ships where they would become slaves/crewmates (or be thrown overboard if they didn't comply)
Sherman in his march stopped in Savannah, and was so charmed by the city (they threw him parties and celebrated his arrival) that he sent a telegram to Lincoln, announcing that he was 'giving Savannah to him as a Christmas Gift'. That meant that Savannah wasn't burnt, and years after that Jim Williams came in from Gordon, Georgia.
He pretty much single handedly saved the historic district. Despite coming from a poor family he managed to climb his way to the top and restored/preserved over eighty historic homes in the downtown district- making Savannah beautiful again. (Before that, a wealthy woman visiting Savannah had disgraced the city by describing it as 'a pretty girl with a dirty face' due to many of the buildings being dilapidated and unkempt)
Because of all these preserved areas, it's said that the spirits remain attached to them. I've had multiple experiences in the city, and the phenomenons aren't locked to any one location. I've talked to locals about mid-town/Skidaway ghosts and we agree that the 'newer' area's haunting are MUCH more frightening and violent.
One girl I befriended from there named Heather (who was also a ghost tour guide) told us about how her friend had recently moved back in with her parents. And they own a cross that hangs over the stairway. Well, every day at four, the cross would fall down, fall down the steps, and land upright (but upside-down) on the last step. Every day, and the parents would just put it back.
Almost every place (especially downtown inns) in Savannah has a haunting or strange happenings. I've never heard of soliders in halls, not in any of the 30-something Savannah books we own or in any of our stays in the hotels or from locals who I have befriended over the years of traveling there. But it doesn't surprise me at all, because of course I have heard of war scenes/soldiers appearing in other places- like Laurel Grove Cemetery, or Colonial Cemetery on Oglethorpe, or in Madison square- adjacent to the Sorrel-Weed house.
(It was where a defensive line was set up and people claim to see soldiers 'walking through a fog' as well as hearing canon fire in the middle of the night)
The only thing I would think would match that description of haunted hallways MIGHT be the Marshall House on Broughton Street. (Funtip- in the Walking Dead game, they have a chapter based in Savannah and actually end up in the Marshall House) But the most I've ever heard of hauntings from there is that a call will go out to the rooms late at night, waking up guests. When they answer, it would be a young man telling them they need to leave immediately, that they are in danger. But in the morning- there is no call listed in their call log.
Last funtip- Haunted Mansion is actually based off of an inn in Savannah that Walt Disney stayed at. It inspired him to make a story about 'funny' ghosts instead of classically mean or scary ones. (The inn was haunted by the pool-playing children of the old innkeeper, who, after their deaths prohibited anyone under the age of about 15 from staying there. But you'll still hear the laughter and running of children- which is what Walt Disney mentioned to the clerk as he was checking out)
(It's the Hamilton-Turner Inn on Abercorn Street, and along with being the spiritual inspiration it is also the informal basis for the Haunted Mansion's physical design)
But I could talk about Savannah endlessly, and even without mentioning the cool haunting stuff. So I'll spare you any more!

i can never get enough LA art

Petalite!!
Also, I definitely reccomend a road trip to the Pacific Northwest if you want a road trip!!
I used to live there, very northwest tip of WA and it's so beautiful. The Olympic National Park is to die for and I love Seattle and even Port Angeles if you go further. If you go to Port Angeles, you can also take a day trip to Victoria, BC if you have a passport.
Here's my gemsona.
. 3 .
Sherry Topaz. She's a defensive gem, mostly.
would totally fuse with amethyst if asked toAs for traveling...
I really liked NYC when I went. There's a lot of cool stuff to do, Broadway is really fun, the museums are interesting... Just a really great place to visit. <3
I live in TX, so it was a bit of a difference from what I'm used to, but totally worth going.
Also, I liked Maryland. Lovely place to visit as well. Also Virginia.
; v ;
My only complaint is that I didn't like their interpretation of Mexican food. Just wasn't the same for me.
As far as gemmmmssssssonaaaaa......hmmmmmm Emerald. Definitely. Yeah Definitely Emerald. Very strong and regal. I'm thinking with a great Russian background.

Near by is the Diamond Crater Park, which isn't as pretty but you can dig up your own diamonds.
Kentucky for more caves and the burbon trail.
Niagara Falls (take your pass port, the park area is wonderful but the US side is really..sad. The Canada side is totally different.)
The Dinosaur Best Western
