Deep Thoughts With KD

For purposes of the "X Items or Fewer" lines at the grocery store, how many items is a bag of grapes?
Bulk produce priced by the pound goes through the scanning process by being weighed on a scale at the register, and then the cashier manually keys in whatever item corresponds to that weight. Grapes, in this case.
The scale is large enough that multiple bags can be set up on the scale. Two is pretty easy, but I've seen three.
It seems to me that you could take 40 bags of grapes to the 20 Items or Fewer line at the store. When they protest that you clearly have more than 20 items, you can cleverly reply with, "Let's make a bet. I bet you a nickel that my receipt at the end of our little business transaction here will have a number that is equal to or less than 20, thus allowing me to be in this line. Oh, and you better be quick. There's aq que cue queue forming behind me."
You will be the winner of that bet, and earn yourself a cool 5ยข.
Then you're stuck with 40 bags of grapes that you can't possibly eat before they spoil.

Queue... It looks like some sort of typo of Mexican food, or a Spanish word missing a few letters... xD
But yeah. If you bought a "bunch" of bananas (or whatever you call those little branches of them), that counts as one. But if you bought them individually you would get whined at by the people behind you. :v
What's also fun is buying just one small piece of fruit. One apple. One peach. One plum. Don't even put it into a bag.
I didn't permanently break anything, but after a certain point, it can't measure any more weight, and so thinks you aren't putting anything else into the bagging area even after it orders you to.
