Post ConBravo Journal / What's Ahead
Thanks to anybody who stopped by my booth at ConBravo 2015 in Hamilton. I have a lot to talk about so let me first talk about the con.
MY ART TABLE
Traffic flow for my table was a little less than I thought it would be, but it was like that for the majority of the other artists and dealers too. Nobody commissioned me to draw anything special, but as I was drawing Hiccup and Guy from The Croods mackin' someone saw it, and offered to pay me for the finished original. I said I'd charge them ink commission price, and they said sure! Luckily I got to take a couple photos of it first so I can upload it here, as it's one of my fav drawings I finally got finished. One idea I had was to prepare some "Your Character Here" situations, and price them at a lower commission rate, as I can draw over an already sketched out pose, like "YCH being swallowed by a monster", or "YCH eating chips on a couch." I'll give it a try, I ain't got nothing to lose. Also all the stuff I still have will be sold at my store on tylermannart.storenvy.com later on next month.
FANDOM MUSICALS
For those who don't know, I run a musical theater group called Fandom Musicals, and this weekend, they performed a parody musical of X Men as well as an interactive improv show called Werewolf. I wasn't in the cast of X Musical, however I did jump in for a cameo during the finale, which was super fun and hilarious. Our next performances are at Unplugged Expo next weekend.
THE COSTUME SHOP / KICKSTARTER
With this con over, it's apparent I have many books left. I'm already in the process of packing up said books and other rewards like stickers and buttons to send out to backers, as well as doing their personal commissions to include with the ship, as well as drawing in the front of some books for artists exclusives. That being said about commissions...
COMMISSIONS
Thanks to all who did commission me back in June, sorry for the delay. I'll be finishing up those commissions within the next week or two, and I'll be opening up commissions again near the beginning of August. Including my first YCH auction.
COMICS UPDATES
The Costume Shop returns August 3rd on Tapastic, with a day or two later uploads onto the website. Updates will be every Monday morning as well weekly. First update will be at least two pages. Scribbles will be getting a major update to the site and comics, including quicker jokes, and a slight downgrade in art style which will allow me to make the comics quicker. The art style just won't be digitally inked, it will be traditional, like The Costume Shop, however still clean lineart. DrawnOut like I said will return in September with a brand new update. And finally, my newest comic The Last Gay Human In Space will update on Tapastic whenever I get around to new pages. I'll upload the first two very soon here on DA.
That's all folks! I'll update everybody again when commissions are open for August! Thanks a lot!
