If something really bad or life-changing happened, and you felt you needed to abandon your current fursona, what would you consider for replacing it?

To be honest after 12 years it would destroy me to lose Kota but if i had to come to the conclusion of finally retiring Kota . I don't think I could make another fursona that I could fill Kota's shoes

I understand. These sorts of things come with a lot of identity investment. Abandoning them feels like abandoning yourself--unthinkable.
