I already got the early "release" Win 10 build 10240 on the Thinkpad T510, it runs great. I went from 7 pro to 10 Pro though. only thing i had to do was reinstall the Nvidia drivers and the sound chipset driver.

Naw, it's normal when the driver model changes between versions. 7 uses the Vista model, 8 8.1 and 10 use a newer driver model for sound/videos. Laptop came out in 2011 with the NVS 3100m, the video chip is a variant on the geforce 210 family. Updated the driver and reinstalled the sound driver, and laptop returned to normal. 100% working, using my fingerprint login too. no extra software required for that unlike my older thinkpad T60.
