I made a DVD backup before upgrading this morning. So far it looks good. I hope they get around to incorporating Dolby Audio again, and fixing the pesky scrollbar feature on the touchpad. I fucking HATE the two-finger scroll feature.

Nope they didn't skip 9. As in 10 is 9, but due to some superstition. They named it 10 instead of 9.

No, they deliberately skipped 9, as a lot of backwards compatibility functions that do a search for "Windows 9x" which 9 would have interfered with, as it would be looking for 95 or 98.

That sounds entirely plausible - I dunno about backward compatibility, I'm normally just backward when it comes to this sort of thing!

Sticking with 7 too. Used build 10240 wich is RTM for a few days and went into some nasty bugs that ruined the experience.

I plan on testing 10 on a separate workstation but probably won't move to it for a few months. Going to take at least that long for most software vendors and drivers to be updated.

I have been using Windows 10 since May or so. It actually has shaped up to be a decent OS. I never moved from 7 to 8, but I will move to 10. It is a good mix of windows 7 and 8.
