New clients. new high score.

Well, my previous client left the contact renewal to the last moment and someone new made me an better offer. Which I turned down. so they came back with an even better offer!
after a quick meeting and some negotiation I managed to get an extra £480 (about USD$748) a week! It's been a while since I had raise that significant; but i'm certainly not complaining.
So, this is a new high for my income, and I guess it means my decision to go freelance, and my "fake it till you make it", strategy has been a success.
The problem with "fake it 'till yo make it" is that no one tells you what to do once you HAVE made it. And there's really no framework to work within; no working your way up the ranks or hoping for those above you will kick you down a raise or some perks. There really is very little that you don't have to make happen for yourself. and they definitely don't teach you this stuff in school! and though I learned many useful and pointless things at school none of it touch on an industry that didn't really exist back then; hell, even now we're mostly making it up as we go.
It's scary.
Scary, in no small part because... I still feel like I have no idea what i'm doing.
I guess that's the other side of "The one trick worth knowing".
eh, This is a win! a big win. I wonder, what's next? :)
