Am I messed up.... ( Rant?)

So... My mate from uni who I've known for a long time brought his family to town. They don't speak a word of english and my ability to speak their language is equivalent to that of a four year old... The thing is they kinda treat me like a lil kid because of this.... it's like to them I'm my mates little brother. The stuffed up thing Is this whole situation has been making me feel super little... Am I completely messed up to feel this way?
I've heard similar stories from other folks who have a limited ability to speak a foreign language. The other parties have to simplify their words so much to help the other party understand that it comes off as if they were speaking to a 4 year old.
Enjoy the feels and the company of your mate and his parents. Be friendly and keep a positive outlook.
