I'm literally in tears

Thanks to Kyell Gold I saw that the Vermont House overruled the governors veto on teh bill legalizing gay marriage in that State. If you would have told me last week that we'd go from 3 States in the US to 5 in a week I never would have believed it.
I was reading in The Atlantic I think it was that in times of trouble the US has rather than turned inward and grown conservative, has instead become pragmatic and rational. That when you're trying to feed your family, suddenly ideological struggles over whether guys can marry seem rather pointless. I feel we're in the beginnings of something new and grand, born out of a shared struggle and shared humanity.

D.C. City Council voted unanimously to recognize marriages there as well, but Das Congress must approve since D.C. isn't a real place or whatever... meh.
