Fursuit Bathtime
I need to wash my suit for the next event. Too much Febreeze, not enough actual washing! Dry-washing methods can only go so far, and parts of my suit are now over two years old on spot-clean and brushing alone. It's tough since I have a standing-only shower and pretty much no room to get a bucket and wash it that way without going to the community laundry room where there's space. And no way would it survive the actual washer... those seams are all hand-sewn!
Thinking of just... putting it on. And taking a shower. With laundry detergent. Should work in theory, right? Yeah? That's not weird, is it? No? Maybe?
I should find someone local who cleans fursuits for folks. Arttimo needs a spa day.

Have you looked into carpet cleaning methods? Maybe rent a carpet steamer or outright get a rug doctor and run arttimo over with it? Well, the rug doctor might be overkill, the suction on it might make it hard to actually keep the suit still. Though some kind of steamer would probably do the trick. Steam it down, take a thick brush firmly over it, then wipe it with a towel. Repeat as needed.
I think some steamers allow you to use some form of exotic detergent with them as well. Ask around at local hardware stores and see if they have anything to rent that could do the trick.
I know I'm a week late to this, but since no one else seemed to pitch it, I thought I'd offer my two cents worth.
Best of luck!
