I like that people want to share information. I just hate when I see misinformation. The blog said something about never washing your fursuit unless you have to and if you do never use the machine ever, I was like.. wut. TONS of people wash their suits and many use the machine, telling people not to wash their suit and only use sprays isn't a good idea.

It must be a weird feeling to see that. Your guide does have some good information though. It's sad if it was nearly word for word paraphrases, like what high school kids do when they write papers for English class. Juuuust different enough to not be straight-up plagiarism.

I am looking forward to the new, updated guide! The current version helped me a lot when I was just getting started with fursuiting.

It was, if this person turned it in as a paper they'd get called on plagiarism. That's the weirdest part. It was the way I like to speak and form sentences, but with other little bits added in.

It was like the writing version of seeing myself on the street but with a bad wig on.

I once came across a Wikipedia page that was a exact copy of something I had written. I didn't really mind—though a reference to my original work would've been nice—but I agree that it's strange to find something you created in a place you didn't put it.

yeah some reference would be nice, but it's the internet so I don't expect much.

I never get why people don't credit the source. If something inspires me enough to write, create or just use to inform others I want to credit the person and direct people to that person because if what ever they did was awesome enough to inspire then I feel they deserve recognition for it. When I learn something new from another fursuit builder or get a suggestion from one that I use I will credit them to show that I am grateful for what they have done, especially since they didn't have to share it with me.

But that's just me. I feel no shame for not having come up with an idea, I don't need to pretend it was all me all the time because that is just impossible.

Maybe they don't because they feel like they're pulling the wool over people's eyes. either people will think more of them for coming up with it all on their own, or they think the people would go to the original source cause it's better.

I don't get that, there is no shame in not coming up with something, in fact it always seems more shady to pretend you did it all on your own. If people want to be recognized for their skill and ability then they need to take the time to create something worth being recognized for.

I personally chose to try and actually create something on my own before I turn to others because in the end I would rather my artistic career be defined by the things I invented rather than have the potential to stand in the shadow of another. The problem is that is hard and most people don't like hard, they want instant gratification, they want to have all the answers and they want the coolest looks and ideas, even if it means they are lifted from someone else. It's sad really.

pretty much that's it. instant gratification and I think many times it's people that are young or inexperienced to really understand the little attention gained now is not going to last in the long run.
