All these young folks saying the old music has the soul though they didn't live even close to it.

They forget about all the terrible music they had back then. Popular songs that drowned out the good stuff, like Sugar Sugar by the Archies (Nr. 1 song of 1969).
Same situation nowadays, really. Good stuff everywhere, you just gotta look for it.
