just cant be assed with months into years of [poor] excuses, no replies, or plain laziness. If you cant give the art then refund the money, dont feed bull****

And people don't need to be greedy over it.

I once paid someone who was in an "emergency" situation 30 dollars to be my "art slave" and she never once answered one of my Notes. This was after she sold me off an adoptable she was no longer using.

I have stories from helping one to just plainly taking a commission slot and waiting forever and a day on it. This is a business, not a donation =/

Constantly saying "IT'S AN EMERGENCY, COMMISSION ME NOW!" more often than you actually draw the commissions should be one of the quickest ways to lose customers but apparently it isn't.

There have been so many 'reasons' that come out, I can barely tolerate them anymore

Artist block
Hurting wrist
Hurting joint
don't know what to do
can't for today
can't for for X/Y/Z reasons
family member is getting married
FA is down



After some time (months pass working into a year or two or three) you cannot honestly say you are trying to work on the initial commission vs new commissions

You're supposed to clear out old commissions before taking new ones anyway. And even if not, at least be upfront about how you will work on them in order other than payment received.

Usually i see artists put up a journal or modify their profile saying the backlog they have...then plenty of new stuff comes and that backlog is just sitting there...and sitting there and sitting there

Been fooled once, I don't hop on the emergency funds stuff anymore after getting no sort of activity from the person for a year, what made it more irritating is it was a friend at one point, but that went out the window soon after.

I just feel bad because nothing good comes out of this. Now that I am burned I am NOT going to just pay up front all willy nilly anymore (unless it is something like with deon and you will stream the entire commission). I am only going to those i know or are highly trusted and even then I still have my reservations. on the flip side artists have been burned as well which is why they ask for stuff upfront, so nothing positive comes, and no one wins
