How would you feel about creating a reference sheet for a character? I apologize if you've already stated somewhere that you don't do them, I checked through your TOS and recent journals and didn't see anything to that effect.

Sounds like the either the fan(s) are seized up or the heat-sinks fins are clogged with dust. Have you attempted to open it all up and check it out? It's a delicate process with laptops, but they are usually serviceable. The fans can be oiled, and the heatsinks blown or vacuumed out.

Yeah I opened it up yesterday and dusted it out, running with like big ass external fans on it, still breaks. I also lost a ton of files yesterday, so there's obvious hard drive damage as well :/. Its started to blue screen on me too instead of hard shutting down. It's been running sluggish for the past couple months and I think it's finally calling it quits :(

Ouch. Yeah, in that case the damage may already have been done. That's one of the problems with laptops - sometimes by the time heat damage is noticed, it may be too late to do anything about it. I had one eventually die that way, despite taking it apart and servicing it every 2 years (though, it lasted 9 years, so... not too bad).

Yeah I know, and I've used this laptop RELIGIOULY sitting on a large elevated-off-the-table cooling mat (more like a stand) so it's like even with that the heat still ended up killing it. Oh well, it's time that I get back on a desktop, at the time I needed to be more portable with my setup, but that time is over now :P! No more working on a laptop for me!!

Well, I work as a Network Administrator/Engineer, so I've been building and tinkering with this stuff for 25+ years now. My oldest in-service system is an 11 year old HP Tablet PC. Original specs were 40 gig, 4200rpm IDE drive and 256M of RAM with that god-awful XP Tablet OS on it. It now has a 64g SSD, 2G of RAM (most I can put in it) and is runing WattOS (Linux). Works well, though it's amusingly fat compared to modern day tablets. Oldest working system in the house is a 20 year old 486, but it's um... not really good for anything.

I try to service and take care of them. The problem with laptops though is that when you shove so much computer into a very small space, heat and vibration shock always cause huge problems over time. Bargain laptops (under $600) rarely live beyond 4 years. Moderate quality ones ($600 to $1200) tend to do a bit better. Quality ones $1200 and up) can usually make it to 8 to 10 years of service. Heh, by which time they are so obsolete that there's often little point in keeping them going anymore. :P

Would you be up to doing a 2-character piece in the pinup style? Not anything super explicit, just cutesy coupley shit, and of course I would pay accordingly/take up two slots!
