Saw
aevsivs do this and it looked like fun, so I'm doing it myself :D
Favorite video game?
Definitely Metroid Prime. I can't think of any other game I've ever played that I've had more fun with AND is of such a high standard of quality as it is. Unquestionably the best game ever in my eyes.
First console you owned?
A special edition Hey You Pikachu! Nintendo 64. :3c
A game that holds a special place in your heart?
Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, since it's the first video game I ever played. It also holds up fairly well even with the ludicrous amounts of nostalgia I have associated with it now, which is a massive bonus in my eyes.
Least favorite video game character?
Diddy Kong. Fuck monkeys in general and fuck that little shit in particular.
Favorite genres?
Fighting games, role playing games, roguelikes, and danmaku games, even though I'm utter trash at the latter.
Video game character you've had a crush on?
Garrus, dear lord Garrus. That voice makes me wet.
First video game you remember playing?
Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, like I mentioned above. The other two games I remember playing during my first ever session when I was 4 or 5 were Hey You Pikachu! and Super Mario 64, so those can count as well. It was at my grandparents' house at Christmas, and I was supposedly so hype for getting my Nintendo 64 that I ignored all my other presents and set it up on the TV immediately.
Age you started gaming?
I want to say 5, but it might've been 4.
Hardest video game you've played?
Ikaruga. I still can't get past Stage 3 on one credit, even after all this time.
Video game you've spent the most time on?
This one's kinda tough, since I haven't kept track of this very well. It's most likely Soulcalibur V or Super Smash Bros. Brawl, since I know I've spent upwards of 400 hours on both games, but other contenders include Pokemon Soulsilver and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Most embarrassing gaming moment?
I've installed some mods I'm not particularly proud of in Skyrim. >_>
Scariest video game you've played?
Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I could not fucking handle that game, I quit like a bitch only halfway through, and that with my friend trying to help me through it the whole time.
Most memorable gaming moment?
Definitely playing through Lost Planet 2's online campaign for the first time. Being in voice chat with a whole bunch of random people who were all losing their shit at that game's ludicrously hype cutscenes and growing a serious rapport was an experience I've never replicated and was truly special. Second place was definitely going to my first Super Smash Bros. tournament, which was the first time I had ever gone to a fighting game tournament. Being a part of the scene after observing it for so long was awesome, and something I definitely want to start doing more of soon.
Video game character you wish you could meet in real life?
Yosuke from Persona 4. The bro potential is off the charts.
PC, Xbox, Playstation, or Nintendo?
Right now I'm nearly exclusively a PC gamer, but Nintendo will always be close to my heart due to growing up with their consoles. That being said, I don't really have a loyalty to any particular company; I get the consoles I want that have the games I want to play.
Gaming company you're most loyal to?
See above.
If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
Super Smash Bros. 4, probably. It's got a huge, bustling community, and it's the sort of game I can easily sink hundreds of hours into. It's perfect for that sorta thing.
Do you use strategy guides?
I used to all the time, I loved getting them because of how well they were designed and how fun they were to read through. I don't really get them as much anymore, but if I'm picking up a fighting game or something like Skyrim I'll get the guide as well.
How often do you use cheats?
I used to use them all the time, back when you could get Action Replays. I cheated extensively on both my Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS, and did all sorts of fun stuff with a whole bunch of games. My favorite thing to do was access hidden content, like the Sevii Islands in Pokemon Emerald; that was the coolest shit ever back when I was a kid.
Competitive or single player?
I like both equally!
Video game character you want to/have cosplayed?
I've gone as Mario and Koops from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for Halloween a few times. My Mario costume was pretty fly actually, especially for a 6 year old.
Ever go to a video game convention?
Yes! I've been to PAX multiple times, Comic-Con multiple times, the 2004 Playstation Experience in London, and the Evolution World Championships in 2012. All of them were amazing experiences and I highly recommend you visit one at least once.
Hardest boss fight you've been in?
Gabriella in Star Ocean: First Departure. For context, I had breezed through the game's secret dungeon, which was a solid 4 and a half hours of dungeon crawling with no save points capped off by a superboss. I tried to fight this guy and he utterly destroyed my ass easily. It took me a whole shit ton more hours of grinding and strategizing to even stand a chance, and even then it took me like 10 hours of tries to finally beat him. Shit was ridiculous.
Video game you wish you could burn from your memory?
Mass Effect 3. A profoundly disappointing ending that managed to ruin the entire series retroactively as well as a game that was otherwise shaping up to the best in the series. An utter waste in every aspect.
Favorite gaming series?
Metroid Prime, Soulcalibur, and Super Smash Bros. are all tied for this spot. I love them all way too much to pick just one.
Do you skip tutorials, or find them useful?
Depends on the game, but I do appreciate well-done tutorials that teach me the game's mechanics without being irritating or boring.
Best online gaming experience?
Lost Planet 2 by leaps and bounds. The game's not even worth playing unless you're playing it online.
Worst online gaming experience?
Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Especially versus random people, hope you enjoy 2 fps taunt parties. Versus people you know it was passable, but the online experience outside of that was far and away the worst I've ever had.
Why do you game?
It's one of the two hobbies I've spent the most amount of time on, along with music, and it's because it brings me entertainment and satisfaction that few other things do. Not much else to say other than that, really.

Favorite video game?

I like this maymay.

Yours was great too, btw, it's why I was inspired to write mine 8D
